-Month Later-
I almost didn't recognize myself when I looked into the mirror. I didn't see the girl who wore vintage inspired clothing and always had her hair in a messy bun. I didn't see the girl who is stuck behind a wooden desk all day, teaching children. I didn't see her.
Instead, I saw a woman with elegant loose curls in her hair. I saw a woman in a vintage inspired dress, on the happiest day of her life.
It was a surreal to think that I would actually be getting married to someone as kind, funny, and loving as Niall. No matter how much we fight, I love him with all my being.
But just like every bride, I was nervous. Because I'm a clumsy person, I was terrified that I would trip over my train, or my own feet for that matter. That would make just make this whole day perfect, wouldn't it?
Note the sarcasm.
Just as I had taken a deep breath, I hear a knock on the door, before Liam's head popped into the room slowly. "El?" He whispered, before making eye contact with me, a wide smile on his face. "Wow. You look beautiful, El."
I smiled at him through the nervousness, as he walked into the room the rest of the way. "Thanks."
"Niall is gonna be speechless." He told me, as I walked up to him, hugging him tightly.
"This is crazy, Li," I spoke, as I pulled away from the hug and wiped away the tears falling down my cheeks. "I mean, it seems like just yesterday we were ten and playing on the playground." I said, causing him to laugh. "Like, remember when you were put in detention for beating up that one kid because he was pulling my pigtail."
"I remember that." He laughed, causing me to laugh myself at the thought.
"Now look at us, Li," I began, as I turned and looked into the mirror at the woman in white. "I'm getting married to a really great man. I'm a teacher. Your becoming a dad - to twins nonetheless - and your graduating law school."
"It's amazing, isn't it?" He murmured happily, as he walked up beside me, wrapping his arm around my waist. "Hard to believe we're growing up, huh?"
"Very." I replied simply, as we stood there in complete silence. Minutes passed, before I looked up at him and smiled. "Best friends forever, remember?"
"Always and forever." He replied, before I hugged him once more. "I mean, Dakota and Robyn need their Auntie El." He said, causing me to burst out into laughter. Just as the hug broke up, my dad walked into the room, a smile on his face.
"Hey Ellie. You look beautiful." He told me, as he grabbed my hands and spun me around in a circle. I giggled, before hugging him tightly. "It's nice to see you, too, Liam." He added, as Liam simply nodded, before leaving the room to give us privacy.
But once Liam left, my dad's smile instantly faded into a grimace, causing me to cock my head to the side in curiosity. "What's wrong, dad?" I asked, as he walked over to the small window and looked out of it, his back facing me.
"I'm not very happy about this." He confessed. "Hell, I'm not very happy about this whole relationship you have with him."
"What's wrong with Niall?" I asked, slightly offended that he waited till the day of to voice his opinion.
"Because I don't, Eleanor." He scolded, turning on his heel to face me. "There doesn't have to be a reason."
"Niall isn't a bad guy, dad! He's the sweetest and most caring person ever."
"I'm not discussing this with you anymore, Eleanor." He spoke, before past me and opening the door.
"Can't you see I'm happy?"
"Eleanor Jane, I said drop it." With that, I followed my dad out of the room and towards the aisle. It hurt me that my dad didn't like Niall. The fact that he waited this long made me angry. Approval, or not, the wedding is going to happen. Despite what my dad has to say. Just as I looped my arm with my dad's, the music began, telling me it was time.

"This is crazy." I whispered to my brother, Greg, as he rolled his eyes at me, laughing at my nervousness. "This is not a laughing matter, Greg."
"Just calm down, Nialler. All those nerves you have right now will go away once you see Eleanor walking towards you." He replied, as he fixed my tie. I took a deep breath, trying to ease my nerves.
"Are you sure?" I asked, as he chuckled.
"Trust me, mate," He began, lifting his left hand up in the air, showing me his wedding band. "I know from experience." I laughed, before I heard the music begin, telling me it was starting. I nodded at Greg, as he patted my shoulder and I turned, coming into eye contact with El and her dad.
She smiled at me brightly, only making my heart flutter. I smiled back at her, before I caught eye contact with her dad. He narrowed his eyes at me, causing me to take a deep breath.
'Take care of my daughter, or your ass is mine.' He mouthed to me, as I gave him a quick nod. Once they reached me, he took El's hand and placed it in mine, as she moved to stand right in front of me.
"Hi." I whispered. As her smile grew bigger. "You look perfect."
"Hi." She blushed, as I took my thumb and wiped away the tear that was rolling down her cheek. She quietly laughed, before the Pastor began.
"Dearly beloved.."
