New year, new me.

No, not really. Just kidding.

New Year, new things to learn to hate.

First thing, well person, I'm learning to hate is Kenzie.

I try hard not to want to knife her in her sleep but she's ridiculously rude to me now. She keeps things short and catty.

She kind of scares me.

I was attempting to take Sawyer for a walk which was ill advised by my mother, due to the fact my ankle was iffy. It had only been about three weeks since the incident.

I was down the street, and Sawyer was giddy and kept looking back at me like I was the most beautiful creature on the planet.

Then Sawyer's head whipped around like he had seen a squirrel. I looked in the direction he had become so interested in and Noah and Kenzie were kissing, standing in the middle of the sidewalk.

"Sawyer," I warned, "leave Noah alone. He's with the dragon--" I started. Before I knew what was happening, Sawyer was running toward Noah, and I was attached to his leash trying to keep pace.

"Sawyer, heel!" I shouted. Sawyer didn't listen and Noah focused his attention on my catastrophic cock block. I was bright red, and wanted to die.

It was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, easily in the top five, and I have had a lot of embarrassing moments, but I don't want to get into that.

"Avery!" Noah yelled, "let go of his leash! What are you doing?!"

"Sawyer, heel!" I tried again. I felt a sharp pain in my ankle, it was like a bee the size of an eagle decided to sting me.

I cried out and I let go of Sawyer's leash. I wailed like a banshee as I collapsed onto my butt like a domino.

"Avery!" Noah blurted, rushing over to me, "Kenzie, go get my dad," Noah called over his shoulder.

Sawyer climbed all over Noah like he was also the most beautiful creature on the planet.

Noah popped a squat in front of me as I held my knee to my chest and I wished I could have melted into the concrete.

"You should have let go of Sawyer's leash when you saw me, he runs at me all the time," Noah told me, his hand going for my ankle.

"You were kissing Kenzie," I breathed through the pain, "I didn't want to interrupt and thought Sawyer was going to listen when I told him to leave you alone."

"I gotta keep her happy or you know," Noah said bringing his bottom lip into his mouth and baring his teeth, "she gets the fangs."

I laughed and Noah managed to coerce me into giving up my knee.

I still don't understand why Noah is dating Kenzie. She's tremendously manipulative and she's an ugly person.

Noah sees the beauty in people I guess, and his rose colored glasses must be set to stun.

I call her the dragon lady now, that's what Megan calls her and I picked it up one day.

Megan says Noah likes how bossy Kenzie is, and how she's honest and a no nonsense type person.

Yet I know Noah better than she does, and I've only known him for six months and only listen to him talk about twenty percent of the time.

Kenzie has known him for as long as they've been alive which is frightening really.

Kenzie needs someone manly and stupid with a slight Napoleon Complex like Harry Wormwood in Matilda and that is nothing like Noah.

Noah doesn't have a backbone when it comes down to it. I don't either.
