Don't you know
that we are lightning
only contained
within bodies born of stars?
Don't you realize
that we are the combination
of fire
and light.
Don't you care
that when you sit
among the rain
and stare upon the sky
that you are taking a glimpse
into your ancestors
and lovers
and mothers
and fathers.
Oh,
you are ignorant
to the fact that
when the lightning strikes
you are one flash away
from unleashing that power within yourself
and when those stars shine
you are one breath away
from lighting the darkness.
