Chapter 26: Thank You

***Gabby's POV***

I waited for Jake to pick up the phone. After 3 rings he finally did.

"Hey Gabs," he greeted me.

I bit down on my lower lip so hard that I was afraid it might start bleeding. "Hey Jake."

I could picture him frowning once I heard the tone of worriedness that laced through. "Are you alright? Gabby what's wrong? Where are you?"

A humouress, dry giggle left through my chapped lips. "We need to talk."

"Alright.."

"Look, Jake," I began as I leaned against the beige wall of the halls of the hospital. "I just wanted to say, thank you. Thank you for helping me through after what had happen last Summer."

"No problem. You know that it's no big deal, Gab."

"No, it is. Cos if I don't say this I'll feel so bad," I sighed as tears stinged my eyes once I closed them and sat down on the floor with my knees pressed against my chest as I leaned on my back for support. "You mean the world to me. You're a great guy but-"

"You like Louis," he cut me off.

"I'm sorry Jake..."

"Don't be," he reassured. "I knew it wouldn't work out anyway. Thanks for tellin' me though. Just, make sure he treats you right. Um, if you ever need anything or if he messes up, just call. Ok?"

I giggled. "Of course. Thank you Jake, really."

"No problem. I gotta go, Kian's outside."

"Alright, bye."

I hung up and shoved my phone back in my pocket and smiled. 

He was so understanding. I really do hope Jake finds someone better than me. He deserves it, I mean, he's such a sweet guy.

Now, all I have to do is talk to Louis. And try to make things right. Or, hope it'll work.
