Chapter 20: The Fallen Angel

***Nick's POV***

I sat in the seat Gab sat at first. For some odd reason she left me alone with Peyton. 

Even in this state she still looked gorgeous to me. It was the odd feeling she gave me everytime I saw her. I read fanfictions that says no matter how bad the girls the 'Nick' in the story doesn't care. I thought it was stupid and untrue, well, until now.

I don't know why I'm still hooked on Peyton. I shouldn't be, but I am. Something about her intrigues me, and still does. But I have to give up, I can't win. Spencer won. Sure I have won some battles, but he's won the war. 

I held Peyton's hand, squeezing it slightly.

"Nick,"she croaked which made me surprise.

I gave her hand a squeeze and closed my eyes letting a tear roll down. I felt her hand leave my grasp and wipe the tear away.

I opened my eyes to see her weakly smile at me,"hey there."

"God Pey, what happened? You're not like this, getting in a car crash?''I questioned.

"You,"she muse.

"What?"

"You. I was with Ang, and, lately I - I've been thinking of you, a lot."

I couldn't believe the words she was saying.

"I told her that I'm not so sure of me and Spencer. The promise ring, it, it seems too much for me to handle. Then there's you. God Nick, I am so sorry for making you go through and treating you like that. I'm such an idit,"she sobbed in her hands.

I pryed her hands from her face, holding her wrists and looking into her eyes,"hey. It's fine. Peyton you're worth it all."

"How can you still stand me?"

I shrugged,"maybe because I love you."

Her lips curved into a smile slowly. I swiped my thumb across her bottom lip and kissing her forehead. God I wanna kiss her so bad, but she's injured right now.

"Don't blame this on yourself,"I muttered to her before pecking her cheek.

"Oh Ang! How is she? Please tell me she's ok,"Peyton rambled.

I bit my lower lip before taking her hands in mine,"Pey. Um, Ang got the worst of it. She, she's in a coma."

"It..it's all my fault,"she choked out as tears ran down her face rapidly.

I tried calming her but it wouldn't work. She's having a panic attack. I need to slow down her breathing or else she'll faint. Without thinking I lunged towards her and crashed my lips onto her.

A few minutes after I did I felt her kiss back. The kiss was soft and tender. We kept it still just so she'll be ok. I knew that I didn't wanna kiss cos she's injured but I don't care.

I tucked a lock of her hand behind her ear as we slowly pulled away.
