chapter 9

(Y/n)'s pov
"Hey jack," I spoke
"Yea , what is it (y/n)?" He asked.
"Do you know how I got this?" I asked as I showed him my wrist.
"No Idea," he said.
"Alright well I guess I'll go ask someone else then," I stated.
"You might want to try asking your mom," he commented.
"But my mom has been dead for over 300 years jack," I told him.
"What are you talking about honey we are only 20 your mom was at our wedding two years ago," he explained.
"What? When did we get married?" I asked confused.
"In march two years ago," he stated.
"We didn't even get engaged much less married," I stated.
"Honey do you feel alright, we got engaged when you turned 18 and got married when you turned 19," he spoke.
"No we didn't we are both like 317 years old," I told him.
"I think you need to lay down," he said trying to take me to bed.
"No, I just- I need to go see something I need something other than this right now,"I told him walking out the door.
I walked to the lake and just looked at it, it had started snowing and the lake finally froze in some places, I walked to the part that jack fell through and died. I stared at it for what felt like forever and then I heard a sound like twigs being crushed. I suddenly felt my adrenaline pumping, I turned to see nothing but trees and snow. I decided it was nothing and went to walk home but I kept hearing footsteps following me. I made a right turn just before I got to my house and then I made a left.
Pretty soon I was lost with something or someone following me. I was running by this point and I decided to run into a cave. It looked familiar so I looked around and noticed that it had been lived in. Pretty soon I heard footsteps and so I hid and hoped for the best. I think they knew where I was, but they left. I waited for a few minutes until I thought they were gone and I made a mad dash for home. To bad that I didn't make it, they had shot an arrow and shot me in the back in between the shoulder blades.
Jack at this moment decided to come out of the house and see what had fallen. When he noticed I was on the ground he rushed over.
"Oh my God, stay with me baby," he pleaded.
"Jack, I'm sorry I couldn't live long enough to give you my gift," I spoke through blood, "but don't worry about us we will be okay and so will you, I love you Jackson Overland I always have and I always will."
"Stay with me okay, I'll get you to town just hold on a little longer," he pleaded his voice cracking.
"Jack I love you and don't forget me okay? this is where we part ways I'm sorry," I said with my final breath.

I jolted up out of bed and screamed Jacks name not on purpose, it just happened. Jack burst through the door looking ready to kill.
"Sorry bad dream," I apologized.
"It's fine how do you feel?" He asked.
"Fine I guess," I answered.
"Well, um... what do you remember?" He asked.
"I don't know what did I forget? "I questioned.
"Everything except me," he said.
"well, I can't answer without seeing anything I forgot," I told him.
"well, everyone's waiting so um.. just come out when your ready," he stated.
"Okay," I nodded.
I can't believe it's been three weeks since jack got me out of pitch's coffin shit and got my out of that stupid sleep spell. It seems just yesterday that it happened, I guess I better get going. I decided to change into something else so I used my powers and changed into pair of black pants, a red tank top and I had a hoodie wrapped around my waist that was black and red. I walked to the main part of Norths workshop I had no idea how I knew where to go. I just did and so when I got to the main part I saw a very fuzzy face, he looked familiar and I knew that his name was bunny but I couldn't remember where I had met him. I went through each person and I knew where they lived, who they were but I didn't know how I knew them, or where I first knew them.
I decided not to think to much on it, I just was upset I couldn't remember anyone except jack. I had known jack from my childhood and I loved him. I just want to know when I met bunny, tooth, sandy and north I want to know exactly when and where I met them. I hate that amnesia doesn't work that way. Today I was going to that cave jack found that told him how to get me out of the sleep spell. I wanted to know if it would tell me how to get my memories back. As soon as I saw jack he asked me if I was ready to go I said yes so I hugged bunny waved goodbye to everyone else and we flew off together. I don't know if this will have what I need or if it will just be a dead end but I'm going to try I have to.
When we got there we saw the walls I looked at the wall that jack had looked at and I read it but then I tried to read past it but the words had been messed up. It was like someone had come through and taken a rock and just messed the words up. I just stood there looking at the wall, emotionless.
"(Y/n), I'm so sorry, we can fix this, we can get it back I promise we will find a way," jack spoke frantically.
"Jack do you see this wall?" I asked," how are you or me suppose to fix this there is no way to fix it!"
"There is always a way you just have to believe," he spoke.
"Believe, believe, BE-FUCKING-LIEVE REALLY JACK REALLY THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO, HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO BELIEVE IN ANYTHING HUH? THAT WAS MY LAST CHANCE AT GETTING MY MEMORIES BACK AND NOW IT'S GONE THERE IS NO WHERE ELSE TO GO NOONE TO TALK TO THERE IS NOTHING, MY FAMILY IS DEAD AND HAS BEEN FOR ABOUT 300 YEARS OKAY? THERE IS NOTHING LEFT FOR ME TO BELIEVE IN JACK MY LIFE IS OVER AND I'M DONE WITH EVERYTHING I DON'T CARE ANYMORE, I just don't care there's nothing for me to care about anymore," I screamed and by the end I was sobbing and my voice had become incomprehensible.
"(Y/n)?" Jack said while hugging me," do you know why we call you sunshine all the time?"
I shook my head I thought that, that was just a nickname they had given me.
"We call you that because you are always so happy so optimistic about everything that you shine like the sun you never give up for anything," he said, "you use to tell me all the time when we were little that there is always another way there is always a new way to do something no matter how little it may seem."
"Yea well I guess I was wrong," I told him sniffling.
"No, you weren't," he laughed looking me in the eyes with either had on both sides of my head," you were right and no matter how hard things seemed to get I have always remembered that, you have been what's kept me going what's kept everybody going through Sandy's death and through the battle with pitch, through everything you are what has kept us going."
"Really? I've kept every guardian going just by being me?" I questioned not convinced.
"Yes you are," a thick, gruff Australian accent said from behind me.
I turned around and bunny stood there and I ran to him and hugged him. I cried on bunny because I was so happy to see him right now and I was upset that the writing on the wall is gone I just broke down.
"Its okay to break down every once in a while it happens but you have been the bright light through a lot of our darkness's, one year I didn't have most of my eggs done and you spent two days helping me finish well over 2,000 or more eggs because you knew how much Easter meant to a lot of kids and me," he said.
"Well thank you for being here it means a lot," I stated.
"Well I did manage to bring a few more people," bunny stated and then he side-stepped and I saw everyone.
Tooth, sandy, and north all standing there; there was another though I saw a little boy no older than nine.
"Can he.... can he see me?" I asked.
The little boy perked up and said, "Yes I can ad I believe in you."
"Thank you so much for believing in me but what's your name?" I asked.
"I think you already know that answer sunshine," jack stated.
"I do?" I questioned and looked confused.
"Take a good look at him who does he remind you of?" He asked me.
I looked and he has the same blonde hair as my little brother did and the same blue eyes.
"He looks lik- he looks like my little brother," I said voice breaking slightly.
I bent down and looked at him and I knew his name wasn't Sebastian it started with a j and I knew it I just could not think of what.
"Does your name start with a j?" I asked him.
"Yes it does," he answered enthusiastically.
"It your name John?" I asked
"Close but not quite, "he stated.
"James?"
"Nope," he commented.
"Jonathan?" I looked at him.
He lit up like a Christmas tree and shook his head so fast it was hard to see.
"Yes that's it," he said and jumped into my arms.
"(Y/n), he can see you he believes in you, if you want you can take the oath to become a guardian,"north piped up.
"Yes as long as Jonathan always believes in me then yes I'll do it," I said with enthusiasm.
"Okay her we go, will you, (y/n), vow to watch over the children of the world? To guard them with your life, their hopes, their wishes, and their dreams. For they are that we have, all that we are, and all that we will ever be," he read.
"Yes."
"I now name you a guardian, "he said.
"Alright then," I said.
"Hey, now we can work on getting you your memories back," little Jonathan said.
"I'm sorry sweetie you can't come with me but I promise that once I'm done with what I'm fixing to go do I'll come back and play with you okay?" I negotiated with him.
"Fine," he said not to happy but happy enough.
We took him home and then I went straight to pitch's layer he always has something to do with it. I'm not in the mood to deal with his shit either so he better be giving me straight answers.
