Chapter 6: A Link?

"Well I'm with the entire team in a conference room they allowed us to use. I'm putting you on speaker."

   "Thank you Morgan." I tell him. I asked Garcia earlier for a board and suddenly she comes in just as I thank him, with the board that I asked for.

   "Hello crime fighters! Seems like we need to find a 4 leaf clover cause luck isn't on our side at the moment." Garcia says as she takes a seat.

   "Baby Girl~ what happened?"

   "Turns out we might have a new victim. Her name is Veronica Louis. And before you ask how she's our next victim, she was abducted most likely. She never returned her apartment according to her roommate, and her form of transportation to and from work was a taxi. She's been missing for about 2 days." Garcia says as I walk towards the board that she brought.

I hang up pictures of the victims, Lucy Jones, Madison Mays, and finally Andy Morris.

   Lucy was a natural blonde, Madison was a brunette, and Andy was also a brunette. I begin to hang a picture of out latest victim, Veronica Louis on the board, in the recent picture of Veronica she has raven colored hair with golden tips, but in another picture she was a brunette. I doubt that the unsub may have a preference, or does he?

"If that's the case, we have about 5 days to find her before we find her dead. We need to hurry before he escalates any further." Hotch says on the other end of the phone.

"Hey Garcia pass me the case file, would you?" I ask her as she looks around the room and finds it near her computer to her far right.

"Did you find something?" JJ asks .

"Here you go."

"I'm not entirely sure, but I think I'm onto something. Okay open your case files, something piqued my interest. Okay so this may get a bit confusing, but just hear me out," I position the board so that it faces Garcia and I as well as her computers. "So, look at the girl's picture from before and then after. Only Lucy's hair has changed, but Andy's and Madison's haven't."

"M.E report said that the hair changed not only due to dirt and sticks, but also found traces of hair dye most of it left. But they also said that skin was found underneath their nails." Reid remarks.

"So all three victims fought off the unsub?" Prentiss stated.

"Appears so because the skin from all three victims matched." Morgan stated.

"Okay so the dirt found in their hair confirms that he isolates them, but where? It's not common soil that you find in your backyard, but it's used in other places. Even though in New York there's hardly any place that comes to mind." Rossi replies over the phone. I start to think and I walk towards the board to write where the victims were found.

"The girls were found in public places, but given that they weren't found so quickly he must have done it early in the morning." JJ remarks.

"So the unsub takes the time to torture them and wakes up early in the morning to place them somewhere where they are going to be found easily, why?" Rossi asks.

"Okay, but just look on your tablets I just sent a photo of Veronica." Garcia states as she send them a photo and background information about her that she found.

"She has raven hair with golden tips?" Prentiss asks.

"I think the unsub has a preference. Veronica originally was a brunette, until recently. If so that would explain the hair dye found in Lucy's hair." I say as I take my seat once again.

"Says here that she worked at Kattie's Kafe. I think that's where we should start and talk to the roommate along with her parents. But if she didn't dye her hair until recently that would confirm that..." Hotch states before drifting off near the end.
