"I can't get his smell out of my mind. It's so... intoxicating." I thought to Luca as I sat in his bed while he played video games on the computer.

"Intoxicating. That's one way to describe it." he nodded.

"You know what I mean." I rolled my eyes.

"Was it his blood?" Luca smirked.

I shook my head. "No, just his smell in general. He smelled like wilderness and he seemed sweet."

Luca pressed pause on the game and turned around, "Kora, you barely even spoke to the guy. Plus, he seems like a dog. Probably from Indian decent, with that haircut. He's probably related to a shape shifter."

I got angry and stood up. "For one, we've never even seen a shape shifter, so for all you know, they can look muscular with an 8-pack and short hair. Not just tall and hair as long as mine."

"So he's a she." Luca laughed.

"Testo di cazzo (dickhead)." I hissed. "Where are the keys?"

"You know you can't drive because of last year's incident."

"It won't happen again." I replied.

"Better not." Luca stated, tossing me the keys.

I spent a good fifteen minutes as I headed back to the small restaurant where I first saw and met Embry. The smell was gone, filled with disinfectant wipes and lemon soap on the ground. I decided to keep driving when I finally caught on to the smell. I drove for about ten minutes, and then parked the car. I was led to a forest and about to go on foot, but the ground was muddy and I didn't want to ruin my shoes.

Going from the top of one tree to another, I was led to a series of homes. They were close together, yet far apart. My eyes scanned the houses, and I leapt closer to a yellow house with white trim. It was neatly kept, a row of flowers against the wooden fence and then immediately I spotted him. Embry. He walked out of the house in a long sleeve plaid shirt over a gray t-shirt, faded jeans, and simple black shoes. I was wondering about how to explain my being here, but as I stared more, I noticed that Embry looked significantly more muscular than the last time I saw.

Before I started heading down, I heard a howl. It couldn't have been from a dog; it was too loud. Could it be... I turned to Embry and he was looking around just like me, dumbfounded. He inched closer to the front gate, ready to leave, until an older woman emerged from the house calling his name so he headed inside. I quickly decided to leave. I'm alone, and there were definitely several other howls. I leapt from tree to tree, until I stopped, seeing a man. He smelled so horrid, like a wet dog. Tearing his clothes off in a matter of a few seconds, he was no longer a man. He was a wolf. A large, black wolf.

He began sniffing, and looked up. Can he see me? He began barking, he definitely saw me. I quickly leapt from tree to tree, racing to get to my car and drive off. I grabbed a branch wrong and fell a couple of feet, but was still high up that I managed to escape being torn to pieces. One wolf, turned into three. They were all chasing me and quick on their feet. They knew this land well. I thought for a second that I got turned around, but spotted my car on the side of the road, unlocked it and turned it on as I entered. The wolves were right behind, one of them managing to scratch the back of the car, but I drove off at full speed.

When I arrived home, I slammed the door shut behind me. Even though I couldn't smell them anymore, and I had checked several times when speeding down the road, I wanted to make sure they weren't behind me. I don't recall ever being this frightened before.
