Danger Lurks

Oh it was that glorious time of year. Senior projects all throughout our classes, yay. Like if I was in the mood for that especially since around this time is when I lost my best friend. Of course they gave us the prompts to our projects and they are due during finals week but for us seniors they are due a day before graduation.

I had gotten a head start on my other projects like research project I had to do for my English class, and the report for my Econ class and many others. The only one that I wasn't looking forward to do was my Anatomy one and the reason was because I had to work on it with Killian. Don't get me wrong there are times when I think he's a sweetheart but then he goes right back to being that dirt bag I know he is.

One thing that I have noticed is that the many times that I've defended people on campus, he's there simply watching and giving me that I'm-proud-of-you look which I completely ignore. Today was not a good day, the day was so tedious and dealing with Killian was a pain in the butt, he insisted on coming to my house to work on the project but I of course did not want him at my house.

So I asked Killian to type out all the labels that we will be using for the project. We are in charge of doing a replica of the circulatory system and what purpose it has for the physiology of the body. So for him typing those labels should be easy as hell. I on the other hand had the hard job and that was to do that stupid replica.

I was sitting on the living room floor, working on the project when my aunt comes and checks up on me. "How's everything going sweetie?" I sigh. "It's getting there." She smiles. "Do you need anything?" I shake my head. "No why?" "I'm a head over to the cafe to meet up with one of my friends." I smile.

"Oh sounds like fun." She smiles. "No I'm good aunt just bring me a coffee cake." She smiles. "Will do sweetie, be careful ok?" I nod. She goes and kisses my head then walks out the door. I continued to work on my project and that's when the mannequin breaks. I sigh. Really? Now it decides to break, after my aunt leaves. I scoff.

I walk up the stairs and went through my aunts sewing supplies to see if I can find a hot glue gun or crazy glue. I found the gun but no glue sticks and the crazy glue was no where to be found. I sigh. I walked back downstairs and sat on the couch. I could go the crafts store, it's a far walk from here though, or I could wait for my aunt.

I look at the clock and it's 5pm not that late. I grabbed my phone, jacket, wallet and keys. I never really do this, but the violence in this part of town has died down after the incident with Neal so I should be safe. I locked the house and made my way to the store. I bought everything that I needed and even a piece of candy. I started to make my way back when I noticed there was a group of guys wearing black hoodies were walking towards me.

I turn around and I see more guys. I turn back around and sure enough they were coming after me. I scoff. I really don't feel like fighting so it's best I run. I threw my candy on the floor and I ran through the street barely missing the passing cars. I start to run towards my house when one of the guys pulls my hair and pins me against the fence.

"It was you wasn't it Swan?" I scoff. The guys start to take their hoodies off and I see Damian, Leonard, Mick and other guys. I scoff. "What do you guys want?" That's when one of the guys standing in the back makes his way up to me then takes out a knife.

"We can't hurt you at school but here, it's more than possible." I scoff. "What the hell is all this for?" He scoffs. "You were the one that ratted on Merlyn, now he's in jail." I scoff. "Well he shouldn't have killed my best friend." He grabs my face and scoffs. "Look here gothic princess who ever messes with my people, they suffer." I spit on his face.

"You can't do that to Slade, Emma." I chuckle. "Who the hell is Slade, you?" He nods. "Oh that's it princess I think it's time for you to reunite with your best friend." He makes his way towards my stomach but I knee him in the stomach and he falls back. One guy tries to attack me but I kick him in the face and he falls back.

That's when Leonard pins me against the fence then I see someone had hit him. When Leonard falls back I see a familiar face. "Killian what the hell are you doing here?" He smiles. "I thought you might need help." I chuckled. We continued to fight off these guys and my were we doing a good job.

As we continued to fight I started to grow weaker and weaker. That's when Damian hits me on the face and I fall. He picks me up and pins me against the brick wall that was now behind us. That's when Slade comes and stabs me in the shoulder. "Emma!" I hear Killian scream out as I screamed from the pain.

He then cuts my arms and pushes me on the floor. Killian and I had nearly bested everyone except Damian and Slade. "How about I kill your boyfriend?" He asks as he makes his way towards Killian. "Killian, run," I scream out and he shakes his head. "No I can't leave you," he screams out. I sigh. "Leave him alone Slade." He smiles wickedly then makes his way to Killian and they start to fight.

I was so weak I felt like was about to pass out. I then see Slade had cut Killian's side. I gasp. He then cuts his arm. That was the last straw for me. I am not losing another person while I just sit here and watch. I did all this training so I can help and save people. I gather up all my strength and I knock Damian out with a piece of rock. I look up and Slade had kicked Killian down.

I jumped off the brick wall and wrapped my legs around his neck and pulled him down. I then hit him and he knocked out. I look at Killian and he's in shock. I look around me and thank goodness no ones dead. I don't know why the hell this keeps on happening to me? Killian gets up and smiles at me.

"Emma you saved me." I laugh. "Like I said Killian leave the saving to me." He nods. I smile then I fall. "Emma?" Killian says as he catches me before I hit the floor. I start to see blurry. "Emma stay with me," I keep hearing him say. I laugh. "Oh God it hurts, I'll be fine," I say and that's when I black out.
