a little girl

there was once a little girl. she was a little shy and didn't like speaking in front of people but she could still talk for hours with her friends and yell across the playground at them with no fear. she trusted everyone and was nice to everyone no matter what. she judged no one and trusted all. she was innocent.
she didn't care about separating boys and girls. that rule was bogus to her. the majority of her best friends throughout the years, were guys. she had few girl friends. but that didn't matter to her because she still trusted and was nice to everyone.
but all it took was one older brother. another sleepover with her best friend just like every other one they had had throughout the year. and all those years of built up trust and naivety to come crashing down silently and carefully around her. and she didn't hear it. she went home. talked to her family, and life went on as it had before. she didn't notice the small cracks that had formed in her that only became bigger as time progressed.
she didn't see how badly it affected her because she tried for awhile. she tried to keep talking to guys, to keep acting nice, to keep trusting. but she couldn't do it. she could no longer look people of the opposite gender in their eyes. she couldn't let another night like that sleepover happen again.
she didn't see this at first because she let herself forget. she erased it from her mind because she didn't want to think about it. she played it off as a prank and forgot all about it. but unknowingly, she closed herself off. she no longer trusted the boys. no longer trusted the families of her friends. her friends' houses no longer felt safe. she didn't see that she suddenly had all girl friends. she didn't see that she could no longer keep conversations with boys unless absolutely necessary. and if so, she could never look them in the eye. she could no longer trust them.
as the little girl became older she started to remember. she'd think about that night and realize what had happened. she finally understood. but it was too late to make a change so she kept silent and never spoke of it. the cracks spread. and still her friends remained only girls.
she grew even older and began to change her ways. the cracks had grown to the point where she could no longer hold the separate parts together. she let go and out came a new person that had grown inside of the cracks, waiting for the light.
the no longer little girl had realized she could l trust her friends and told them of that night. she began to talk to the boys again. she still struggled with her eyes but she worked hard on it. she couldn't trust the guys and she maybe never would. the older brother had made a crack deep in the soul of the little girl that no amount of shedding of her shell could ever fix. she could crack and reveal a new better person every time she was hurt but his scar would always remain. she would always remember. but it was the little girl's choice as to if she would trust them again or if she'd keep them at arms length. but there was no wrong answer. this little girl could do whatever she felt was right. and if it was right choice for her, then it would always be the right decision.

whoops. guess who that little girl was based off,,,,,,,,,,(hint: it's me) wHOops. i wish i could've written this better but it is the middle of the night and i have an exam tomorrow whOopsies. hA i'm gone bye hope you liked it
