The Give Away

Chapter 4

The headmistress and headmaster asked me a lot of questions and I told them everything I knew. They left and I spent the rest of the night in the hospital staring at the cieling unable to sleep. I woke up the next morning and checked the time, I had only had 15 minutes of sleep. I got and dressed in my uniform, brushed my hair and went to find Rosemary. I found her in her office, I gave her a hug 'Thank you so much, you saved my life' I said as a joyful tear rolled down my face, 'It's ok sweety.' She replied 'Robert and Jane helped heaps' 'Yeah, I could hear everything but couldn't do or say anything else. I could hear Jane opening all the doors and Robert carrying me. They are so sweet.' I said as tears rolled one by one down my face. After saying thanking Rosemary I ran to my dormitory, grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs to the courtyard. I sat down on the bench under the cherry blossom tree and drew in my sketch book. Jane came and sat beside me, I yawned then hugged her 'You helped save my life, thank you so much' I said 'Your welcome' she replied. Robert appeared in the archway, I ran to him and hugged him tight. 'You saved my life. Thank you, so much' I said as I hugged him. He stroked my cheek 'Anything for you' he said, a tear rolled down my face. He wiped it away and smiled, right now I felt so safe in his arms. That day could not have been more perfect, Robert and I sat next to each other in every class and I got to thank all of my friends for staying with me and helping to save my life. All of our friends and I stayed together the whole day, well must until about 5 minutes before dinner. Sara, Jane and Lana went up to our dormitory to put their books away and tidy the room, Lloyd and Kieran did the same. That left Robert and I on the seat under the cherry blossom tree. 'Robert, I want you to know. When I fell I could still hear everything. I heard what you said to me in the hospital and I need you to know. I love you, so much' I said to him holding his hand. 'I love you too' he said. We hugged, I kissed his cheek and we sat together, watching the sunset. The bell rang for dinner and we ran to the door, if you don't get to the door early you are stuck in the line for at least 30 minutes. Robert and I were the first to the door, our friends came barreling across the courtyard skidding to a stop. Now all 7 of us were first in line. We heard the doors burst open and a massive crowd of people came flooding out, pushing their way to the line. We went in and sat at a table, we talked for a while and had dinner. I saw the headmaster enter the room, he gave me a weak smile which quickly turned into a grave unreadable expression. He walked slowly to the teachers table and sat in the centre, the headmistress sat beside him. I noticed that one of the professors was acting strange, she kept twirling a strand of her hair around and around nervously. 'Attention everyone! I would like to introduce a new teacher here at Moonlight, she is introducing a new subject here called inquisitive. It is an optional subject for people who want to learn more. Please welcome, Ms Lilac!' The headmaster said Ms Lilac stood up, she looked extremely nervous, she took a deep breath 'Thank you headmaster, my name is. Ms Lilac but you can all call me Ayra. I am looking forward to spending time with you and I am here for anyone who needs just someone to talk to.' She said. She got a round of applause, she looked a bit more confident as she sat down. 'The sign up sheet for Ms Lilac's class is by the door. You are all welcome to go and sign up as of now' the headmistress said. Jane, Lana and I stood up and walked over to the sign up sheet. Joseph, Anna and Mary joined us but that was it, just the five of us, four girls and one guy. 'This is going to be interesting' I thought to myself as I signed my name. 'Ms Lilac's classes will take place on Friday session 4 for the ones who are interested. The sign up sheet will be there over night until 10:00am tomorrow morning.' The headmistress said. Jane and I sat back down with our friends to dinner.

Friday came and Joseph, Anna, Jane, Mary and I went to the new class. I had talked to Ayra earlier this week and she said she could teach us about anything we wanted to learn about. I was going to ask her to teach me about my nightmares I kept having when the moon was full. I walked in with Jane by my side, I was so nervous. I walked in and sat down, the tables in this classroom only had one seat. I sat down in the second row, Joseph sat next in the table next to mine, Jane was in front of me and Anna and Mary were talking and laughing like no one else was here. Jane coughed and they turned to us 'Oh sorry guys, we didn't realise you were there.' Mary said. They went back to talking but now at least they knew there were other people in the room. 'Alright guys lets get going, sorry I am late, Mr Loraine and Mr Denis showed me around a bit' Ayra said as she put her bag down next to the desk. 'Ok now tell me your names and something interesting about you' Ayra said as she sat on the desk swinging her legs excitedly. 'I am Anna and umm I love writing books' Anna said. 'I am Mary and I umm I love drawing.' Mary said. The girls giggled quietly. 'I am Joseph and I love sport' he said. 'Ah you are the one Mr Denis told me about, you're in every sports team you are allowed to be in here, nice' Ayra said, 'uhh I'm Jane and I have been kidnapped before' Jane said shyly. Everyone, besides me, turned to her shocked. Their jaws were wide open and their eyes wide. 'Are you ok now?' Joseph asked. 'Yeah, it happened about five years ago but I still have scars from it' Jane said rubbing her wrists. She had scars from where the ropes were for so long on her stomache, ankles and wrists. 'And lucky last' Ayra said looking at me 'I'm Hope, I uhh I don't really have anything interesting about me' I said sheepishly. 'Oh so you are Hope. I have heard a lot about you from Mr Loraine. You are the one who has been attacked by her Aunt twice aren't you?' Ayra asked, I nodded shyly. I saw Jane shift in her seat like she knew something I didn't. 'I am Ayra as you know and I am an artist.' Ayra said. I sat up in my chair 'An artist at Moonlight?! Yes! Someone who can actually teach me about art!' 'Ok now what do you all want to learn about?' Ayra said as she walked over to the chalk board. 'I'd like to learn more about writing' Anna said. 'I'd like to learn more about writing as well' Mary said. The girls giggled again. 'I would like to learn more about my family' Jane said gravely. 'I would like to learn about other counties' Joseph said sheepishly. 'I didn't think Joseph could get embarrased. Huh, learn something new everyday' I thought to myself surprisingly. 'I would like to learn more about the nightmares I'm having' I said staring at my birthmark. 'Well I am sure we can learn about these things soon' Ayra said with a kind smile.
