I fell asleep in Roberts arms, we didn't even get a chance to change. We fell asleep after we had been talking. I woke up the next morning in Roberts arms, he was holding me tight as if he was afraid of something. I stroked his cheek. 'Whats wrong?' I asked. His eyes were bloodshot and he had black rings around them. 'She...she was here' he stuttered. 'No....not her. What did she do?' I gasped holding him tight. 'She...she tried to take you. She came in and you were floating off the bed but you were still asleep. You didn't move. Until she saw I was awake. She smiled and clenched her fist and your chest raised, your hands were clutching your throat like she was choking you. I tried to stop her, really I did. But I figured out her powers, she can control blood. Manipulate it. Thats how she controls the bird. Thats how she can throw you across the room without laying a finger on you. Thats what she did to me' he said to me. 'What did she say Robert? Did she say anything? Anything at all?' I asked. He nodded. 'You must accept the truth' he said. He was shaking, 'Mr Loraine?!' I cried. 'Yes Hope? What is it? Is something wrong?' He asked. 'Thank god you answered. Robert is panicking, what do I do?' I asked. 'Do you want me to come down?' He asked. 'No, it will just freak him out. What do I do?' I cried, literally. I was coughing. 'Are you sure you can handle it?' He asked. 'I'm sure' I replied as I took a deep breath, calming myself down. 'Ok, go to the bathroom and wet a dishcloth. Make sure it's warm. Hold it on his forehead and talk to him. Keep talking to him until his heart beat returns to normal. Then he should be fine' he said. 'Thank you! Thank you so much!' I said as I ran to the bathroom and immediately turned the tap on. 'Anytime' he replied. I could feel his warm smile from my dormitory even though he was on the other side of the school. 'Oh and Hope? Take your time, I don't care if you are late to class. Just this once' he said. 'Thank you' I said gratefully as I laid the dishcloth on Roberts forehead. He gradually laid back into the pillows, his eyes closing. 'It's ok Robert. Everything is ok. You are going to be fine' I said. I put my fingers to his neck, finding his pulse. I counted his heart beats for 20 seconds and multiplied it by 4. His heart beat was back to normal. I breathed a sigh of relief and hugged him. I lifted my head off his shoulder and kissed him. He put his hand behind my head, his fingers tangling in my mess of hair as he pulled me closer. 'I'm glad your ok' he said. 'Likewise' I replied as we kissed. My skin became hot, my neck and ears burning. I kissed him one last time before I pulled away and hugged him. 'I love you, so much' I said. 'I love you too' he replied as he held me tight. I kissed his cheek and got up. I brushed my hair, then my teeth and fixed my dress before coming back out of the bathroom. He was standing next to the bed, I walked to my desk and grabbed my books. He walked over to me and took the books out of my hand, sitting them back on the desk. He put one arm around my waist, the other around my back and leaned me down onto his knee. He kissed me before lifting me up again, taking my left hand and twirling me around. When I stopped spinning I was in his arms. The same way I had been at the winter dance. My hands just below his shoulders on his chest and his arms around my waist. I kissed him. I would have kissed him longer if there wasn't a knock at my door. I pulled away from him and walked to the door. He hid behind it as I opened it. It was Anna and Reilly. 'Hey!' They said. I opened my mouth to say something but only a weak whisper came out. I clutched my throat with one hand and waved. 'Oh, you lost your voice' Reilly said. 'That sucks' Anna said. I nodded. 'We just wanted to know if you wanted to come to town with us tomorrow. We are going to get some new uniform and stuff before exams' Reilly said. 'Crud, exams. I completely forgot!' I thought to myself. I nodded and hugged them. 'We will take that as a yes, see you later Hope!' Anna said as her and Reilly walked down the stairs. I closed the door. 'Now where were we?' Robert said smiling as he took my hand. 'Right here' I replied as I kissed him. He picked me up, one arm under my knees and the other behind my shoulders as my arms wrapped around his neck. He sat me on the bed, and walked around the other side. He sat on the bed and pulled me onto his lap. I looked up at the clock, 8:15am. He pulled me back into his lap, holding me up with one arm behind my shoulders. My feet dangling off the end of the bed. He laid down, pulling me onto him. We made out, when we sat up I could already see he was still extremely tired. I crossed my legs on the bed, sitting up straight, and laid his head in my lap. I put one hand on either side of his head, rubbing his temples with my fingers. His eyes closed. I leaned down and kissed his forehead softly as my hair cascaded around our faces. I looked up at the clock, 8:22am. Robert sat up and kissed my cheek softly. 'Thank you' he said as he jumped off the bed. He took my hand and lifted me up, he grabbed my books and we walked down the stairs. We walked out into the courtyard to see Jane and Kieran sitting on a bench side by side. Kieran had his arm around Jane and she was leaning on his shoulder, her face was streaked. I took one worried look at Robert and we ran towards them. I sat beside Jane, she looked up at me and hugged me. Her face buried in my shoulder as she cried. She had something on her lap, it was a collage we had done at the start of the semester. It had our parents, Mark, Maria, the dogs, our baby brother and sisters. Everyone. It was in a frame. 'I miss them' she cried softly. 'I miss them too. It's ok' I said as a tear rolled down my face. Ever since I was little when ever I saw someone cry, it made me cry. It was like I could feel their pain, understand it, as if it was my own. My mother said it was just my caring personality but I always thought I was different. Now I knew. Robert sat beside Kieran, putting his hand on his shoulder. Robert looked at me and tilted his head. 'Is she ok?' He asked. I nodded 'Yeah, she will be fine'. I walked Jane up to the classroom, she sat at a desk and I got her a few tissues. She wiped her eyes and took a deep breath. 'I know what you saw Sara, Lana and Lloyd say. Do whatever you need to do, I'll back you up' she smiled. 'Thanks' I smiled. She shrugged 'what are sisters for?' She asked. I walked over to the breezeway and looked out the window. Kieran, Joseph and Robert were playing basketball. 'Hey where are you? Is Jane ok?' Robert asked. 'Yeah she's fine. I'm in the breezeway' I replied. He passed the ball to Kieran and turned around, he looked straight at me and waved. I waved back and slid down the wall. 'Saw you' he laughed. 'I know' I giggled. I sat underneath the exam tables and read my mothers diary. I was only on the 5th entry and it had already told me so much. I found out more about my parents, I read about when my parents first met, I learned more about my family. I shut the book just as the bell went. I ran through the breezeway and into the classroom. I sat in my chair and did my work. Suddenly the bell went and a mass of people poured into the hall, I pushed my way past and sat beside the door. Covering my head with my arms, crossing my legs and pulling them up to my chest. The crowd left and I was sitting on the floor. Still. My teacher got to the door and I ran inside, sitting in a chair at the back. I turned on the computer, shoved my books under my chair and waited. Robert came and sat beside me, I smiled. 'Thanks' I said to him. 'What for?' He asked. 'Sitting next to me' I replied as I entered my password. I clicked enter, he put his hand over mine. I looked at him, our eyes locked. I looked away, blushing so much my face was as red as my skirt. He smiled and took my hand, letting our hands drop under the table. Our fingers locked together. Our teacher came around to us, 'logged on yet over here?' She asked. I nodded as Robert and I let go of each others hands. She smiled and walked off. I breathed a sigh of relief and slid down in my chair. The computer logged on and I got to work, we were studying for a big test. I typed in the web address and waited for the internet to load. Robert and I talked as we did our work, it was fun. The bell for recess went and I picked up my stuff. I looked towards the door, there were three ways I could get out of this room but two of them were blocked. The only way out of this room was past Sara, Lana and Lloyd. I took a deep breath, clutched my books to my chest and walked out of the room. I got outside and breathed a sigh of relief. I walked to my dormitory and locked the door. I fell onto my bed and curled up on top of the blankets. I yawned, for some reason even though I had had a lot of sleep I was really tired. I fell asleep on my bed.
