Cryo had been walking down the corridor as fast as his wings would allow him in the darkness when Fae's flecks flecks flared to life in front of him.

"What is it, DragonFae?" he asked the silent air.

The cloud of flecks formed an arrow, pointing straight ahead. Confused since he had already been travelling that direction, Cryo followed the frantic magic until he reached a choice. He knew the corridor off to the right led to Banshee, but DragonFae's arrow was pointing left.

"Why that direction?" asked Cryo, even as DragonFae's mental tug pulled on his body. "Banshee is the other way. I--" Three taps echoed across his chest. "She's found Harpy. I must--"

DragonFae's flecks buzzed around his head angrily, getting behind him and physically pushing him towards the left. Though reluctant, Cryo obliged, reasoning that DragonFae was their eyes. Whatever lay to the left, it was more important than any possible assistance Banshee might need.

Cryo glanced towards the violet magic. "Can you show me what I'm walking into?"

The magic hovered for a moment before it multiplied and formed the familiar sigil of Wyvern.

Cryo drew a large breath and quickened his steps. "Of course."

Guided by DragonFae's arrow, Cryo took a left, a right, then another two lefts before he heard voices.

Too far to make them out, he approached slowly, attempting to curb the noise his claws made against the starstone floor.

"Look out, the old bat is gonna whack us with a stick!"

"Ooooh, careful. He might hurt himself and fall down on top of us!"

Laughter followed the statements. Cryo made it to the doorway and paused outside of it, listening to figure out where they were--an impossible task as Wyvern rose to the taunts.

"I might be Dark, but I'll still take all of you morons out and leave you begging for mercy if you don't tell me where you're holding Harpy!" said Wyvern. "Even now, I think even that is below you. I should kill you all where you stand."

"Careful, old bat, you aren't as tough as you used to be," said a voice thick with amusement. "We're the ones with the guns, and you're the one who interrupted my interrogation so rudely."

"Bah, interrogation?" said Wyvern. "I'll show you an interrogation after--"

"Oh, you'll certainly show us an interrogation, just not on the side you're envisioning," said the amused voice again. "To think. This old bat actually had the nerve to approach us without anything but a stick. Didn't even think to steal a gun before he tried making his demands." Laughter from the ground. "I'm almost impressed, but I'm starting to think the rumours about you were true."

"Which rumours?"

"The ones that said Harpy did all the thinking in your pair. You do know that females find intelligence attractive, don't you? Maybe that's why she--"

Wyvern's roar of rage drowned out the rest of the sentence, and Cryo knew it was time to intervene.

Cryo stepped inside the room with frost at his fingertips, expecting immediate resistance, but Wyvern's attack had the room occupied. The room wasn't large, a fact that became important as Wyvern swung his weapon--a thick, wooden staff about a metre and a half long--with an expert's touch, forcing the group of five to scramble backwards.

"What's wrong?" Wyvern screamed, swinging his staff in a wide arc around him and causing all five of them to misfire. "ARE YOU PANSIES SCARED OF AN OLD BAT WITH A STICK?"
