Dinner that night is the best I've ever had.
Not from the food, though, but from the taste of sweet victory. My team won 35-21. Impressive, I must say. Chase can go cry into his hot chocolate.
He and his brother decided to stay for dinner, since Auntie usually makes more than we can all eat. But even the leftovers probably aren't enough for those two. They eat more than I do in a week.
David went to go pick up Jo, so I'm enjoying his absence. Mom invited her over for game night, and I'm actually happy that she's coming. I'll be able to embarrass David once again.
I talked to Quinn about our plans for tonight's prank. It involves a lot of blue dye, and we hid all of the prank stuff in his room. Nobody would find it there. Nobody would even LOOK in there. Between him and CJ, there's probably 50,000 different kinds of bacteria and diseases crawling up the walls.
I'm starting to have second thoughts about hiding the stuff there.
The prank went well, if I do say so myself. Blue dye is very effective in mouthwash. It also stains the teeth a brilliant blue.
The cons to this, though, is that I'm stuck hiding at Eliza's. He chased me right out into the snow. No coat, no shoes, no anything. And believe me, a 5 minute walk in below freezing temperatures is torture.
Luckily, I always keep an overnight bag at her house. Auntie promised to not let David in my room, so that's all safe. Right now, I'm relaxing by the fire, hot chocolate in one hand and a cookie in the other. Eliza's mom makes the BEST chocolate chip cookies.
We decide on watching Dear John with Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. Yes, I still watch chick flicks. I'm a girl, aren't I?
I also like it cuz it's a military movie. My dad was in the army when he was young, and so was my grandpa and his father. And now, as you know, so is David. Ever since I was young, my dad pushed us to support the military. We always do the toy drives and the fundraiser and stuff for military families. Dad was even more happy when David joined the army, and he was ecstatic when I told him how I wanted to go to West Point.
Well, enough of that for now. I'm just glad to be alive after being chased down by David.
Eliza fell asleep halfway through, so I stopped the movie there. I was pretty tired after a long day of football. So I decided to just go to bed.
In the morning, Eliza's mom dropped me at my house. The family was eating breakfast, so I showered and joined them. David was gone, but I still checked EVERYTHING.
I went to go grab a seat when Mom stopped me.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"Today, you and your brother Quinn have the delightful opportunity to go out to breakfast with your sweet, kind, FORGIVING oldest brother." She smirks. "I had to punish you both somehow. Wear something nice. It's at a nice restaurant."
How can you eat breakfast at a nice restaurant? I mean, it's all messy and stuff.
I go upstairs to complain to Quinn and I find him trying to tie a tie. The idiot.
"Did you-"
"Yeah. We're going out to breakfast with our way too serious, overprotective, 'perfect' brother. Yeah, I heard."
"This isn't going to be good. We need to plan something."
"We can't! It's a freaking restaurant. If we try anything, he'll see it."
"So we're FORCED to behave?"
"Yeah!"
I give up. I go to my closet and put on a Forever 21 skater dress. I actually look good, if I do say so myself. I swear, Forever 21 works magic.
I'm thumping down the stairs when HE walks in. I guess he got the blue dye off his teeth. And Darrell said it would last a few days.
He has a bouquet of flowers in one hand, and a football in the other. Wow. I've never seen something so cheesy.
"That is the most cliche thing I've ever seen." He turns around and smiles really wide. No blue dye left.
"Actually, the flowers were for Jayson."
"What a gentleman."
"Nice sarcasm."
He throws the football up the stairs. Of course, I catch it. Quinn comes by and I throw it at his head. Too bad he doesn't have fast reflexes.
We exit the house, Quinn rubbing his new bruise on the side of his head.
The funny thing is, for once I have no idea what's happening.
