"So how did I do?" CJ leaned from across the table to grab a chicken finger. "And don't sugar coat it."

"Well," I thought about it. "You could've been better on defense, but on offense you were okay."

"Just okay?"

"Yepp."

"What about amazing? Or incredible? Or super or something like that?"

"I'll give you a four out of ten." My dad looked at me sternly. "He said not to sugar coat it." I said.

"What do you think I should work on?" CJ turned to Ricky, my second oldest brother. Ricky was adopted into our family when I turned five, almost ten years ago. He came from a family in the ghetto near Boston, but when his parents went missing, he came to live with us. Then I guess he became part of our family. He never usually talks about before he came here, except that his dad used to beat him up when he was high. And that he doesn't give a care in the world about his real parents, and they could be dead for all he cares. Harsh, huh?

"Well, kiddo, you could've blocked better on D, like Toby said, but on offense you were pretty awesome." Ricky was the star QB on the Northington Red Rocketeers. Varsity.

"He used the word AWESOME." CJ bragged. "AWESOME. And you couldn't even give me a five."

"Sucks for you."

Quinn, Jayson, and Mom showed up finally. Both boys dug in right as they sat down, eating almost everything on my plate. Ugh. Boys.

"You're disgusting." I said, and stood up. "Well, I'm leaving. Good luck looking for food, Mom, if they don't eat it all." I turned to leave.

"Wait up. I'm coming with you, Tobes." Ricky called out.

"Nahh. You're too slow."

"Watch me."

I ran out the door as fast as I could, dodging random people on the sidewalk as I passed by. I heard Ricky yell behind me, but I didn't care. All the sudden. I felt a pain in my left hip. It was a numb pain, almost like when you hit your funny bone. Then I was on the ground.

"TOBY???" Ricky yelled. "OHMAGOD WHAT DID YOU DO???" He was kneeling next to me. I tried to get up, and I heard this popping noise. Oh geez.

"Ouch." I sat up. There was a bicycle with a mangled wheel in the road, and it's rider was standing over my brother.

"I'm fine." I said, getting up.

"How are you FINE?" Ricky's eyes widened.

"My hip popped out. It does all the time in basketball. I'll be okay.

"Are you sure?" The biker dude looked worried.

"Yepp. I'm okay. No harm done."

Ricky helped me up, and I brushed off my jeans. Thank God they hadn't ripped. "Ya know." He said. "You're indestructible."

"I get it from you."

"Kid, we're not even related."

"I still grew up with you."

"I guess. But, dude, that was wicked awesome. You went flying. It was crazy."

"I was a bird."

"An awkward bird."

"Shut up."

"Hey I gotta football game tonight, and do you wanna come? I got an extra ticket."

"Maybe. Can Chase come?

"Why don't you hang out with girls?"

"Too much drama."

"If he wants to pay for his own ticket, whatever."

"Thanks."

"No problemo."

We walked home, which was about a mile away. When we got to around the high school, there was a huge car wash going on. I guess the cheerleaders were putting it on, because our neighbor was there. She lives a few houses down, and has the biggest crush on Ricky. But she's a snob, anyway.

"Hey, Ricky." She smiled, showing all of her bleached white teeth. Of course, she wasn't dressed appropriately, and was surrounded by the cheer squad. Being the head cheerleader, she gained a lot of popularity, and flaunted it when she could.

"Hey, Sabrina." Ricky didn't even make eye contact with her.

"Ya wanna come help us with the car wash?" She is such a flirt.

"Ricky's busy right now." I blurted out. She gave me the evil eye. "And don't look at me like that." It's not gonna attract my brother."

"Oh, BURNNN." Some of Ricky's friends showed up. Including his girlfriend, Vanessa. I loved Vanessa. She was by far my favorite out of Ricky's girlfriends.

The cheerleaders went back to their work when they saw them, mostly because they all are intimidating. Not to me, though. I ran up and gave Vanessa a hug, and she picked me up and twirled me around. Then Ricky came, picked her up, and twirled us all around. They are too cute. I hope he marries her someday.

"Did CJ win?" She asked when he put us all down.

"Yepp. We're all going to Orlando in three days. Oh joy."

"Three days?"

"Yepp. Short notice, huh?"

"Yeah! I'm gonna miss you." She kissed his cheek, and all their friends awwwed, mocking them.

"You all just jealous." Ricky was blushing.

"Get married already." Ricky's best friend Petey said.

"And name your kids after me!!"

"No, they'd name them after me." I gave him the look.

"No maybe they could name their kids like April or May. And you could be Aunt October." Tommy, Vanessa's brother, teased. "A themed family."

"Shut up."
