•Josh’s POV•
Jen and I have a good laugh about my psyche until we reach the others. I notice when we get there that Jen looks upset.
“You okay, Jen?” I ask
“Nick just broke up with me,” she responds staring off into space.
I put my arms around her to comfort her and she puts her arms around me. I feel a tear from her face go onto my neck.
“It’s okay,” I say gently.
“Right before you came to remind me about how we were going to dinner with Francis and the others, Claudia broke up with me.” She lets go and looks me right in my eyes, al I want to do is kiss her, but I hold myself back.
“She did?”
“Yes, but that’s okay because I don’t like her anymore.”
Jen just puts her arms around me again. She stopped crying, but I can tell she’s upset. She lets go again.
“Why did Claudia break up with you? I thought things were going great for the two of you,” she says.
“I thought so too, but all she said was things weren’t working and then she broke up with me. Why’d Nick break up with you?” I say quietly, trying to keep Jen and myself calm.
“He thought their was something between us.”
“Oh…” I reply beginning to get nervous and pull out my phone so I don't start to act weird.
The limo arrived about 3 minutes late but it doesn't bother any of us. I sit in between Sam and Jen in the very back. Jen sits to my left and stares out the window for most of the ride, but to comfort her I hold her hand and she doesn’t deny it which makes me fill with a sweet sensation. Sam looks at me and lifts his eyebrows as if something is suspicious.
“So, whats that all about?” he whispers in my right ear.
“Nick just broke up with her,” I reply with a somewhat dissatisfied expression.
“But i thought you had a…”
“We broke up today as well, which is surprisingly ironic….”
“Oh, that suck, man. Sorry,” he says rubbing my back, acting like an older brother.
“Its fine. I’m over it.” I say smiling and holding onto Jen’s hand tighter. She stops staring out the window and turns to me. I can’t help but look into her beautiful eyes. Then all of a sudden I hear myself say
“You look beautiful,” out loud, and her eyebrows go up.
“Haha, okay doofus,” she says jokingly because she must’ve thought I was being sarcastic. I wait for her to respond but she doesn’t.
“So, your sure you’re okay?”
“I’m fine. I think I’m getting over him. It’s just difficult since we were together for a while and bam, out of nowhere he just breaks up with me.” I put my arm around her and she puts her head on my shoulder and falls asleep.
It’s about 30 or so minutes by the time we reach the restaurant. Jen wakes up to the flashing lights of the paparazzi’s camera. When we finally reach the front entrance of the restaurant and security guards have put up velvet ropes to block off the paparazzi. My arm is still around Jen when we get out of the limo and that makes the paparazzi go ballistic. I quickly take my arm off of her waist but I’m almost positive that we’ll be on the cover of almost every magazine in LA tomorrow.
