It took us a while, but eventually the two of us reached the course. I watched as a green beanie, known as Bard, grabbed hold of a cream white ribbon, his stubbed hands tying it against the finish line. On the other side of the track, I noticed a tiny orange beanie fiddle with a pair of scissors which were sitting in front of him, "Hi Madcap!" Zany called out to him, Madcap's arm soon waving as he noticed our arrival. "Hey, Loopy! Zany! Hiiiiiii!" he yelled over to us as we strode over to him, the edges of his mouth lifting up as he smiled, "You ready for today's event?". A grumble murmured quietly out of my lips as he asked.

"I guess..."

"Yaaaaayyyy!" Madcap said in delight, dropping his scissors to clap his hands happily. I felt my eyes roll as I crossed my arms, going over next to the orange ball to get in position. Zany soon then followed my action, the only exception was him going next to the right side of me. I dropped my backpack next to me and took out a pair of trainers, quickly putting them on and tying the laces up as Bard came over with his gun, preparing to start the race.

"Are all the racers ready?" he asked, all three of us nodding as we grabbed our scissors.

"On your marks..." Bard rose his gun to the sky.

"Get set..." we knelt down into position, the sharp object in our hands.

"And...GO!" we were off straight after he yelled that one word, as if we were fire alarms triggered by the smell of smoke. My eyebrows furrowed as the two beanies raced in front of me, my feet stomping onto the ground quicker and more furiously. I ignored the words that came back into my mind, the confidence thrusting me in front of the others. The thought of winning pushed my speed limit as I opened my scissors and snapped them shut through the soft fabric at the finish line, my arms then throwing the scissors away in delight. I had won. Exhaustion soon dropped me to my knees as I watched the finalists. The two were glaring at each other in order to try and scare the other and travel to victory. Zany had apparently won that battle, for Madcap had come last in the race. I took a water bottle out of my bag and drank the fluid inside just as Zany came over and hit his hand against my back, patting me.

"Good job, Loopy! I knew you could do it!" he said as I put the lid on my bottle. I smiled at him to show my appreciation, a 'thanks' following after once I got my breath back. "You seem exhausted, bud." he chuckled out, "I can do the next event for ya if you want."

"You sure?" I asked, his head nodding, "You really don't have to."

"No, no. You can rest." he looked at his event table, "The next one is the dynamite relay race, so it would probably be a good idea for you to sit out this time.". Zany stood up and rolled the time table up, stuffing it into his backpack and throwing the bag onto his shoulder. I frowned at his confidence, not noticing how clear my worry was. "Don't you worry your pretty little head." he said to me, his usual grin still plastered on his face, "I'll be fine!"
