It took me over 40 minutes to get Matt out of my apartment.
By the time i shoved him out the door, Calum still hadn't woken up. I crouch down next to him and look at the pale blue circle forming around his left eye.
My stomach churns.
This all happened because I was too scared to stand up for myself in front of Matt.
I sigh and move the hair away from Calums face, watching his eyelashes flutter and listening to his soft puppy dog breathing.
Is skin is sosoft, theres not a single flaw. His eyebrows furrow together and he looks like a grumpy little kid.
Before I can stop her, Jessie walks up behind me and starts sniffing Calum's face.
I freeze. If he sees me sitting next to him admiring his features, I will surely shit myself.
His eyes twitch and open quickly as I shove my dog away from his face,
"What the-" He rubs his head and looks around confused.
"You've been out cold for nearly an hour." I tell him as I stand up and go to the kitchen to get him water.
"Sorry I wasn't much of a hero." He touches his eye and hisses in pain.
"Here." I set a glass of water in front of him and hand him a bag of ice. "Its okay, really. I managed to get him to leave."
Calum looks up and sighs. "Still, I wanted to help you.. I don't know, he was being a complete asshole to you and something in me wouldn't tolerate it so I snapped."
I open my mouth to thank him but he continues talking.
"I made a fool of myself."
I set down my glass of water and walk around the counter so that I'm next to him. "No, you didn't. What you did was super heroic." We both laugh.
He suddenly stops smiling and turns to look me in the eyes. "I like your laugh." He says softly.
"Thanks, I like yours too." My cheeks are burning and I'm about ready to punch him in the face.
But soon enough, his face is coming directly towards mine.
