Chapter Seven

Mitch's POV

My favorite part of the day would have to be without doubt when I get to talk to Ashley.

My phone vibrated, picking it up I saw a text message from Ashley smiling I opened the text which just read a simple, "Hey."

Mitch: "How was school?" I texted back I picking up a spoon full of Captain Crunch cereal sticking it into my mouth. I sat on my full sized bed currently watching some other Youtuber's videos. From Mod Reviews to other people’s perspective of Battledomes and TNT wars. My phone vibrated next to me as I carefully set my bowl down on my lap.

Ashley: "Yea I didn't go told Mum I was sick."

Wow I wish my parents would have let me skip, I absolutely dreaded going to school.

Mitch: So you got to sleep all day nice! I texted back setting my phone down and picking back up my cereal taking another spoonful into my mouth. I was currently watching Preston and Woofless' Factions number forty-one at the moment.

My phone vibrated again, Ashley: "Yup! I'm working on getting my mum to let me stay in 'America' for two months."

I laughed just now seeing the quotes around America, I guess it wouldn't be good idea to tell her mom she was coming to visit me she would freak.

Mitch:” I take it you’re not planning on telling her about your side trip to Canada?" I texted back throwing my phone back onto my bed and shoving another spoonful of Captain Crunch into my mouth.

Ashley: "Are you crazy? She'd definitely not let me go anywhere."

Mitch: "The Poof has spoken let it be our little secret :)" I texted back, putting another spoonful of my cereal into my mouth.

Ashley: "So what's up?"

I looked up at the 32' TV that stood in my bedroom before texting back, Mitch: “Nothing, I edited a few videos earlier and that's about it, How's school going?"

Setting my empty bowl of milk down on my nightstand I pulled the covers aside getting under them, it was around noon and I still had yet to decide if I wanted to go somewhere for lunch.

But then I'd have to dig my car out...

My phone vibrated in my hands I opened her text, Ashley: "School sucks Mitch, how was school for you?"

I stood in the boys’ locker room of the gym turning the dial on my lock for my combination, 12-27-3, opening up my medium sized locker I pulled off my shirt.

"God Mitch do you ever eat?" My friend Hunter said referring to my boney figure.

"I eat all the time dood." I said, actually that was a lie but he didn't seem to notice.

"You look bulimic stop being so skinny, try to get some muscle the ladies love that." Hunter smirked pulling off his shirt.

He of course had almost a four pack and his biceps were huge compared to my skinny boney figure. My wrists were small along with almost everything else. I pulled my gym shirt over my head, "Whoa Mitch what happened?" I looked at him.

"What dood?" I pulled of my jeans putting some Adidas athletic shorts on.

"Nothing I thought I saw something." He shut his locker walking out of the locker room as I stood alone. We had one small mirror in our locker room as I walked over to it looking at my reflection there I stood seventeen years old, five foot ten, and 100 pounds. I lifted up my gym shirt as I tried to imagine myself with abs, sighing I looked at myself again. Slowly lifting my shirt up I examined the cuts on my hip bones.

My phone vibrating again snapped me back to present time, I felt tears come to my eyes. I let them fall down my face opening up another text message from Ashley.

Ashley: “My mum said yes, I can't wait to see everyone and you :) !!" I smiled wiping my tears away.

Pushing myself up and out of bed I walked towards my door opening it walking outside and down the hall to the bathroom. Flicking on the light I pulled my shirt off looking at myself. Six foot one, nineteen years old, 145 pounds I had begun working out late last year trying to fix up myself I could bench up to 230 pounds now and had a four pack which took some attention from the white scars on my hip bones.

I opened up the behind the mirror pulling out the bottle of pills before unscrewing the cap pouring them into the sink, I heard it soon enough the sound of metal hitting the inside of the sink. Picking up the razor blade I tossed it into the trash.

No more scars Mitch. I told myself before the voices interrupted, what friends Mitch that's your only friend! Why did you toss your only friend away it was there for you when you were sad!

I turned off the bathroom light leaving the bottle of pills spilled all over the bathroom counter top. Shutting the door I stumbled back towards my room ignoring the voices.

Stop being selfish it needs you, you better go and put it back where it was now.

I shut my door walking over towards my bed as I laid down pulling the pillow over my head trying to block out the voices my phone vibrated again I grabbed my phone pulling it under the pillow I saw I had a message from Jerome.

Jerome: "Just got you the best birthday present a Bacca could ever get you <3 " I felt myself laugh then smile seeing the heart.

I have more friends now I'm not so weak anymore. I thought trying to fight the voices before my head started to pound.

I opened up Ashley's text before replying back to it, Ashley: "My mum said yes, I can't wait to see everyone and you :)."

Mitch: "Can't wait to see you either. . . And Ash if you ever need someone to talk to I'm here, I know people are jags at school. . . Well at least for me they were, I'll always be here okay?" I sent the text gripping the pillow over my head.

She doesn't like you Mitch, no one could you’re a worthless piece of shit.

Ashley: "Actually there was something I thought I'd ask you."

Great now you've done it Mitch she's going to bring up all your problems! The voices screeched at me.

Mitch: "What is it Poofy?" I could feel tears start to well up in my eyes.

I don't have any problems! I argued with the voices inside my head. I was too caught up arguing I didn't notice my phone had vibrated.

Ashley: "Have you ever been sad before?"

What if she had problems similar to mine?

Mitch: "Depends what kind of sad? Like sad someone died sad or sad you feel so alone as your thoughts mentally chew you up bit my bit leaving you feeling helpless inside?"

The voices seemed to shut up for the moment as the pounding on my head began to stop and I could think clear again.

I had survived for now.
