Chapter 3

Lexa's POV

"Commander there's someone approaching!" We had come a long way. We were only about a mile from Sky ground
"Is there anyone around them?" I ask one person isn't a threat it's usually a message
"No Heda she seems- wait- I think it's Anya" as the words came out of his mouth he started running towards the approaching figure. Once they got to her it was confirmed it was her, I felt relief go through my body upon knowing she was alive. This relief wasn't something I could easily share, it might be looked down upon. I waited in my tent impatiently patient. A few long moments passed before Anya entered my tent
"Heda" She bowed her head slightly
"Anya" I repeated her action "What happened to you? Where have you been?"
"The sky people" she said and took a pause before continuing
"We underestimated them. They took all of our soldiers out, and instead of killing me they captured me, tried getting information out of me" at this I raised my eyebrow not so much to question her but she seemed hardly touched.
"I gave nothing." I nodded I know Anya would never give anything away even if tortured a century
"What did they ask?"
"Not much, there was a girl Clarke, all she wanted to know was why we attacked and what my name was"
"And?"
"I gave her my name before I made my escape"
"There is no reason to wait any longer at sunrise we will make our attack. Jus drein Jus draun." I noticed Anya didn't repeat after me and I looked at her with a questioning look
"Lexa I don't believe that is the best way to go" she usually doesn't use my name so I knew there was concern in her words
"Speak" I said allowing her to keep going
"They have advanced weaponry that we will lose many to. I propose a compromise ask for the one who killed the first man and let them suffer the pain of 18 deaths"
"Will this not make me look as though I fear them? This will make people question me"

"Lexa 300 men died, 300 warriors with families, it is not only your duty as Heda to show your strength but also compassion. Blood will have blood and it will not be ours. I believe that these Sky people mean us no harm, they have a woman they call Chancellor seems to be their elected leader but Clarke she's the one actually in charge you should meet with her" I think this over, justice will be served and life's will be spared it seems like a reasonable decision
"Very well, arrange this meeting. No one but the girl and two companions may come, all weapons will be taken away and if they do not agree to terms then a war they will start. Is that understood?"

"Yes Heda" Anya said and left my tent
