Lexa's POV
"Do you know how it looks for you to go into my betrothed room late at night?"
"Look bad to who exactly?" Anya could sometimes make me want to battle all my warriors at once
"To everyone Anya."
"You shouldn't forbid her from seeing others when you have Costia" she was making my blood boil I took a deep breath in. She wasn't wrong. I hadn't told Clarke about how we would be arranging our relationship. Its not the talk that I was avoiding it was the consequences that came from it. I decided it'd be best to tell her after our marriage had been completed. It wasn't like either of us was doing this out of love it was pure politics or so I reasoned. I can't help but feel guilt but its not Clarke i have a duty to it's my people. I came back to my senses to find Anya staring at me
"Just be more careful" I said she nodded and left my tent after bidding a restful night.
_________
"Clarke wake up!" I heard Anya yell
"Leave me alone! The sun isn't even up yet!" since she seemed to fond of her, I had given my mentor the task of waking Clarke to start departing. I was not regretting my decision one bit
"Clarke if you don't get up I'll dump water on you" there was silence for a while and then
"ANYA!" I had gone through that many times myself. I shivered at the memory
After a short while of waiting everything was packed and Clarke had mounted her horse she did not seem her usual self.
"Is everything okay?" I asked knowing the cause of her mood
"Next time wake me up yourself because she-" she said as she pointed an accusing finger at Anya
"Is an impatient evil human" a small laugh managed to slip my lips. Clarke seemed to notice because she stared at me before proceeding to sulk and pout she looked like a cute child.
________
Clarke's POV
Apparently I had fallen asleep for most of the voyage because I opened my eyes to the sound of horns.
"Have we arrived?" I asked as I rubbed the sleepiness from my eyes
"Yes" was all the commander said along with a head nod. I wonder if it bothered her that I was asleep for the ride since she seemed more serious then before.
As we entered Polis people stood in front of their stands to watch us pass by there was many people gushing over the commander including children, they'd compliment her or offer her gifts and she'd thank them as one of her warriors collected their gifts. But there were others giving me weary looks and whispering
"They're examining you making sure you're fit to be my wife don't pay them much attention"
"Easy for you to say you're getting heart eyes and present" I said with an unintentional pout. But soon all was forgotten when I was faced with a giant tower as high as the eye could see. I had read about them this was an old world creation.
"This is home" I heard the commander say.
