Charlotte's POV:
Why is it that all the shite out there in the world comes raining down on me in one go? Or should I say hailing down on me.
Its not fair.
Danny and Andy have been around a lot. They've been acting as my parents. Making me eat. Making me wash. Making me sleep. The nornal stuff that i have just seemed to have forgotten how to do. Without Ma here ... It is like this massive hole in the middle of my chest. When she left this world she took my heart, as i sure as hell don't feel much anymore, she took my lungs, as i can't breathe whenever i think of her or see anything of hers in the house and she took my stomach, as evwn though i am stick thin i just can not seem to eat at all.
I am pathetic ... I know.
I felt arms go around me. I jolted out of shock. I turned and Danny was standing there his arms around my waist. He pulled me closer to him and leant his head down towards mine.
No.
Don't kiss me
Please!
But instead of putting his lips on mine, he whispered in my ear.
"I do know how ye feel sweetie. I really do. I've lost my father. Remember?".
I nodded and put my head against his chest. He held me there for god knows how long before he said.
"Come along Charlie. Lets get some food down yiz neck," Danny encouraged.
I nodded.
I sat at the table whilst Danny went into the kitchen. Andy came through the front door. He saw me sitting at the table and rushed over.
"Hey there sweetie. Is Dan cooking?" He asked.
I nodded.
"Dan put some extra rashers on for me!" Andy shouted.
"... How did ye know i am cooking bacon?" Danny shouted back.
"Bacon Intuition," Andy said which made me smile slightly.
Danny appeared in the doorway with the unopened back of bacon.
"But i haven't opened it yet," Danny said with a smirk.
Andy looked at the unopened pack of bacon.
"That was one heck of a lucky guess," Andy said.
"Sure as hell was. How the fuck did ye guess?" Danny asked.
Andy sniffed the air.
"I smelt the burning sausages," Andy said whilst holding back a laugh.
"Shit!" Danny shouted before heading back into the kitchen.
Andy laughed.
I just half smiled.
Andy came over and sat down next to me.
"The normal Charlie would have laughed at that," He said looking me dead in the eye.
I took a few seconds to answer.
"Maybe i am not the real Charlie anymore. My Ma took that part away from me when she left this world," I said the tears threatened to fall.
Andy pulled me into his lap and just held me there until the time to eat came along.
