Note - this chapter is in the POV of Obsidian explaining his thoughts and feelings on past events of the story. Please refer back to chapter 10.

This is unbelievable, me running to save her, a human? That distasteful, disgraceful woman, but still my mind fills with unorthodox questions.

What is really going on, what’s happening to her right now as I think this? In what caliber of harm’s way is she in, and what or whom is delivering the damage?

How bad is the situation and what if I am too late? I feel myself steadily quickening my pace… but why, for my brother’s sake or of something other…

I have not been in the presence of this woman in weeks; I would have never fathomed the idea that I would meet her again and now saving her life but nevertheless the girl who was once ancient history to me has resurrected.

“Whoa dude slow down it’s just a human.” I hear Tor, one of the three friends I brought to clean up.

I don’t turn.

“Do not question me.” I say continuing on the same pace.

“Shit don’t get your panties in a bunch, it’s not like I really care, as long as I get to kill something I’m down.”  Tor says.

He is the most annoying one out of the bunch, loud, vibrant, ignorant, and hot tempered similar to his natural cherry red hair and eyes.

“Come on you guys let’s just calm down and get this done.” Loken says.

He is very calm for a vampire, very composed although he does hold a secret side to him.

And lastly Guild is the quiet one out of us. I am a little bit of everything.

Tor, Loken, and Guild are all a special type of vampire, who specialize in a specific skill, there is one group in every generation of vampires with many different hair and eye colors that match that links them to their skill.

Tor is one with brute strength, the color red. Loken is one with healing powers, the color of yellow-green, and Guild is one with magic was birthed with the color purple.

As we arrive we hear the disgusting snarl of a monstrosity, a beast. Just a small annoyance.

“Oh man I wish it could have been something more of a challenge but whatever it’s still a kill, let’s go Lok, Gill.” Tor says walking from the shade of the trees.

I stay back, I don’t know why… I just do. Do I really want to save her… do I have to?

Is it too late but before I get stuck wallowing in my thoughts I walk out from behind the trees and the situation is now exposed to me.

I feel eyes, her eyes as soon as I walk out. I lock mine on her frighten, tired, hurt ones.

But there was a little relief, a small trust in her dimmed gray eyes that made a small smirk present its self on my lips momentarily.

I begin leisurely walking towards her but to my astonishment she opens her mouth literally yelling towards me.

“Stop, don’t come any closer!” As she backs herself away from me.

What is wrong with this crazy girl?

“Didn’t you hear me Obsidian!” She says my name with a slight hiss.

Then although she is hurt she tries to run away but to her dismay she finds she cannot run away from me as she falls and I present myself in front of her.

I signal for the unruly girl to be quiet.

“What are you so afraid of?” I ask rhetorically.

She just gives me this confused kitten look.
