9- New Student, New Pain

I woke up half expecting to remember my dream about Archer. Surprisingly, he is nowhere to be seen or heard. I willed him to speak through my head but heard nothing, not even his obnoxious laugh. Looking at my Command Spells on my hand, I managed to tell myself I haven't lose him for now, maybe he is already at school or drinking with Tohsaka at school.

I went to have a bath and think about where possibly Archer is. He got his favorite clothes from Tohsaka and also I suspected that he hang out with him when I was not around or he is in his spirit form.

I put on my uniform that the school gave me and grab my satchel. Going downstairs, I only saw my father who greeted me with the butt of his mug, I guess that Vox is already on his job.

"Bring your gas mask if you don't want to die" My father's voice muffled by his newspaper in one hand. "Such an exclusive school with damned sanitation"

"I will be going, father" I replied while grabbing a muffin from the table. "Say to mother that I left"

The school bus is already outside as I left the porch. I saw a girl in front of it. Her hair has streaks of green and yellow and those grey eyes piercing me through my soul. It was Maya, wearing the uniform.

"____! I am so glad you haven't got sick from the gas leak!" Smiling, she tackled me with a hug and kissed my cheek. It might be embarrassing in front of students inside the bus, but Maya is okay when it comes to that.

We step in the bus and take our seats just two sits from the back. I expected Tohsaka to greet us good mornings, but he is either with Archer or in another bus.

"Where's Archer? You said he got attacked by another Servant" Maya tap me on the shoulder. "Are you both hurt? I am so worried"

"It's Leonard you should worry about, you know the guy in red"

She smiled faintly. "Ah yes, I know him I met him one week ago and talk to my parents about the school, what happened to him?"

I think for a second. "He looks paler than usual after the mana transfer"

"At least he can walk" Maya shouldered me and laughed. "Must be too painful for a dude like him"

"What did I tell you about your fantasies, Maya? I told you, he just slept on the whole process and I think Archer is not that stupid" I still feel a bit suspicious as I said this.

"Where is he by the way? Isn't he is still in his invisible form?" Her facial expression changed. Maya hold on a post as the bus accidentally drove on a ramp.

"I don't think so, he must be in school or with Tohsaka" I replied. "I still have the symbols so he is still my Servant" I showed her my left hand.

"I wish I can have a hot Servant like yours, I don't mind if he would chained me up every time we see each other" She winked. I suddenly remembered that time Archer did to her.

Now she wishes to have one? Maya do not know how hard to manage Archer, he is so arrogant and difficult. Saber is another case and I have no clue about Lancer

"But still thanks to you, I will attend an exclusive school with my friend, plus that hot Tohsaka guy" Maya said afterwards. She do not have a clue how old he is.

I sink to my sit and look at the other students, some of them are half asleep and the others' faces are plastered on their mobile phones. Even if Tohsaka is a bit bothersome and uncomfortable to talk to, I still miss that guy, having knowledge of the ritual.

The engine of the bus suddenly stop humming. Students look at each other and whispers of why would the driver stop in the middle of road. I heard students predicts of having engine problems or possibly empty gas.
