Part Five: Hello

I used to imagine city kids to be snobby and spoiled. Turns out, movies aren't good representations of anything. My first day is almost like any cliché day. Note how I say, 'almost'. The teacher calls everyone up to talk about themselves to the classmates that they've had for years. No, it's not me. It's everyone else. Everyone will have friends that'll smile at them, making them giggle because they haven't seen each other in two months. But it's not that bad. You just stand there, sharing your insignificant passions for a couple of seconds, and that's it. No one's going to laugh at you. No one cares if you like basketball. No one is going to harass you. Hell, they actually want to be your friend.

After all that, I decide to take initiative for once. Lunch is probably the best time. Everyone left to the cafeteria. I leave my seat and start to walk around the hallway. The green towering plants make this old place feel alive. They really take good care of the greenery here.

"Hey! What's your name?" A short girl comes up to me, running. "Ah, I'm Lian." She clearly doesn't pay attention in class. I smile at her anyway. "I'm Kass! Wanna eat with us?"

"Sure."

We both walk to a small group of three, sitting next to foliage. "Hey, I'm Lian." The first guy who's clothes look like they're perfectly placed, fidgets with his hands. Tucked, spotless shirt and all that kind of stuff. "I'm Damien." He says. Next, the girl with red glasses and partially braided hair does a little wave. "My name's Kath." And the last girl with wavy hair looks up from her phone. "Oh, hi. I'm Kyla."
