Hello again! Whoever you are, still reading my diary. I hope you are the shopping assistant I saw the other day (two days to be exact) at the clothes shop. Because guess what, today I'm talking about how you embarrassed me in front of my friends.

If you're not the one well I'm still telling you a little story.

An embarrassing one.

I was just going out with my friends to buy outfits for our school party (which happens every end of term). So I see this real cute dress that I try on right? It's a little bit large around the waist area but It didn't matter much, a little bit of modifications at the seamstress will do the deal.

But no!

This assistant out of no where decides to leave my friend whom she was helping to walk up to me because apparently, I am in the wrong place. She begins by asking me "Hello, are you looking for dresses?"

And I replied "Yeah, I found one but I'm still open to suggestion." I smiled.

"Perfect, we have new dresses that you might want to check out, follow me." She asked and I began to walk with her to the direction of my friends. They were also checking out a few dresses. "How old are you? The dresses we have come in ages 11 to 16 and above that they come in sizes."

"Ah I see. I'm 15." I replied. We got to a place where my friends and I were showing one another the dresses we found when more and more people were gathering around the area.

I was waiting for the woman. I thought she really wanted to show me a dress that would suit me better and I may have not seen it. I was excited to see what she had for me. But then she started looking me up and down, her face frowning slightly.

"Oh okay, but you know, because of your body size," she lifted her hands and waved them over my boobs and my waist "maybe you should just go to the kids' section. Alright?"

Fuck you.

I didn't say it, but I thought it and it was visible in my face expression.

I was so embarrassed and didn't know what to reply. I wanted to cry. It was with difficulty that I went to a clothes store- that's if I ever did. Especially with my friends since they are all somehow curvy and thick- what most people seem to admire. So for this woman to have said this to me in public, in front of dozens of people including my friends. That really hurt me.
I don't know why she said that or if she thought it was okay to tell me that, but it sure did make me feel terribly about myself.

One of my friends Anya intervened "Or you could try and get clothes for all body types?!" She pulled me away. "Let's go Cassie, this shop sucks anyway." My friends left with me. I could feel stares from behind, people were watching us. People saw what happened and they probably thought it was okay but my friends knew better. If you're one of them (Anya, Laure and Elizabeth, I love you guys!)

So for all those who think skinny girls find it easy to shop for clothes, most of the time it's not easy. It's either it's too short but it fits you perfectly; it's the right length but it's too large for your bust and what not. The two phrases I say the most when trying on clothes are: 'too big' and 'too small'.

If you think skinny girls have it easy and because they 'look like VS models' so they can easily find all clothes and fit into anything perfectly:

Its. Not. That. Easy.
