Shaun clenched his jaw as he fought the urge to scratch at the itch under the bandages they wrapped around his arm and waist. He would have to wait a while longer to remove them, to avoid Amanda getting suspicious of him. Explaining why the wounds healed up in seconds would be difficult.

"We don't have anything that will heal her that quickly. What are you planning to do?" Chezlin asked, following close behind him.

"I know that you have your reservations about us using our blood to heal humans and I get it. There is a huge risk involved, but I feel responsible for what happened to that poor girl. I know you won't want to be a part of this, so you can leave after you have changed out of that clothes."-Shaun spun around and looked at Chezlin, earnestly.-"If I can't keep a teenage human girl safe, how am I going to keep our kids safe?"

"You are right, I don't want any part in this. You better hope that nothing goes wrong. I don't think your pretty brunette will be too please if-"

"I won't let anything like that happen."-Shaun said, interrupting Chezlin.-"Get in there and change. You look like you've murdered someone."

Chezlin stumbled past the tent's flap even though Shaun barely touched him. Saying a silent prayer for strength for what lies ahead of him, come Monday morning, he followed behind Chezlin.

Using a disk, tied around his neck with a thin leather strap, he unlocked a chest standing separate from everything else in the tent.

He removed a mortar and pestle along with a thin syringe, while Chezlin changed. The lid of the bottle containing the pain capsules popped open and he removed two, before closing it up and dropping the bottle back into the first aid kit, which Chezlin dumped next to the picnic table. After placing everything on the table, he collected two aloe leaves from a cooler box, that mainly contained their herbs for seasoning.

Shaun started crushing the leaves in the mortar and glanced at Chezlin briefly, before saying, "You should leave now if you don't want to see this."

Chezlin, being the most sensitive of the three brothers, stomped past Shaun. Shaun did not miss the change in Chezlin's eyes-glowing yellow-showing his disapproval.

Shaun continued by mixing the powder from the capsules to the aloe paste and then reached into the medical kit for a scalpel. The small incision he made in his finger, stung for a second, but he allowed the blood to drip into the mixture, before it closed up.

With the blunt end of the scalpel, he mixed it all together with two drops of penicillin. After attempting to draw the mixture into the syringe, he had to dilute it with a few drops of water, before it would draw in smoothly. He blew out a breath that he did not realise he had been holding.

He tapped the syringe to remove all the air from the brownish mixture before washing all the equipment and tools that he used. With everything locked away again and the syringe capped, in his pocket, he ran back to Amanda's tent.

"Before I give her the shot, I need to know if you are sure you want to do this. I won't do it if you are not one hundred percent sure," Shaun said staring directly into Amanda's eyes.

"If she gets home and she looks like this, Mom will never let her out of her sight again. I will get blamed for it, since Mom warned me to stay away from Brad. I thought she was just being a snob because he was poor. I can't take her home looking like this. Please help." She wiped the tears from her wet cheeks and drew in a shaky breath.

"Okay, but remember that it is going to work really fast. She won't have a mark left when she wakes up, so don't freak out on me, okay?" Shaun asked.

He pulled his top up and unwrapped the bandage. Pulling at the thread still stuck to his skin, he removed it to show her that the hole closed up and no sign of him being shot remained.
