"There is only two things that could have gone wrong. Charles informed her of the serum and she took something to counter it or he gave me something else. I'll get the truth out of him as soon as Chezlin is done with the serum. Please try not to listen in. I can't control what Luke says and some things might be disturbing to hear. He is not going to allow him out of there in one piece," Shaun warned.
He felt the link close and kissed her head after closing her up with the blanket. "I'll bring you some tea and those biscuits you like so much, before I join them downstairs," He said and then walked out to go make her tea.
After assuring him that she would be fine on her own for a few minutes, he called Charles and asked him for assistance in clearing out the basement.
"Amanda does not want any of the kids getting hurt down there, so I agreed to go clean it up before heading to bed," Shaun explained.
As soon as they walked through the door, Luke grabbed him by the arm and injected him with the blood concoction Chezlin made. Shaun almost felt sorry for the old man as Luke dragged him to a chair and tied him up.
"What is this? Why are you doing this to me?" Charles asked.
"Why? Are you really asking that right now? You have been sneaking around behind our backs, planting bombs on the vessel that is meant to take us home and you dare ask us why?" Luke shouted.
Shaun held up his hand and shook his head when Charles tried to deny it. "No use, old man. We saw you today and heard you talking to that woman that not only pretended to be Amanda's mother but Barlow's wife. What did you give me instead of the truth serum?" Shaun asked.
"Water. I smashed the real vial on my way back to the jet, after you left," Charles said looking down at his legs.
"One thing that doesn't make sense to me is the fact that you warned me about the plane. You could have jumped out with a parachute and left us to die, but you asked me to help," Shaun said.
"I didn't know they tampered with the plane until I felt the steering lock!" Charles shouted.
"And yet you kept on helping them after they tried to kill you along with Shaun and Amanda. Why? What did we do to make you this angry, this determined to kill us?" Chezlin asked.
"Your mother saved that woman, her great grandmother, but she never bothered to save my Mia. She was right there and she let them take my Mia. Do you know how I got her back? With her throat and heart ripped out, because she could never bare children. She let them take my wife!" Charles shouted.
"She didn't let them do anything. I'm sure my mother would have stopped them if she knew what they were doing. We only found out about the other women that were taken because Miss Melly mentioned it to Melinda. I don't know why she never said anything to my mother, but I am sorry that she never help your wife. All this puzzles me. Why would you help me with all those women after what happened to your wife?" Shaun asked.
"I saw how it disturbed you when they died and I wanted you to suffer as much as I did," Charles spat out. "When you called off the trials I called the only other person that wants to see you suffer as much as I do. Mr Parker packed up all his stuff and sold the house before he disappeared. She's not very happy about that."
"Well isn't that just to sad for words. I'm so cut up that she no longer gets the luxury life she always wanted. As for you..." Luke raised his watched to eye level. "You have about ten more minutes before your skin starts dripping from your body and your insides liquefy. I added a secret ingredient to that lovely blood tonic I gave you. Payback for trying to blow us up. Oh, in case you have another surprise hidden in there, we will be searching every nook and cranny before we leave here and I almost forgot to tell you. I used my blood and not Shaun's."
"That won't do anything to me. I used his blood to have a link to him. I haven't taken his blood since the day of the plane crash," Charles said.
"Well it might not do anything to you, but the flesh eating toxin that Chezlin made for those giant spiders will do plenty. I was going to suggest taping his mouth closed, but when his skin starts peeling off, it's going to slide right off. We can leave him down here. No one will hear him. The walls are still soundproof," Luke said turning to walk to the door.
"You won't win. You will never sit at your thrones. They have big plans for all of you. Big plans," Charles said and then started laughing.
"Well, I sure hope they are able to put their plan into action in a few hours. Since you stopped taking the blood, you probably missed all of our conversations. It doesn't really matter now. You'll be a pool of blood and bones in a few minutes, but I will tell you that we are planing on getting back home the same day as we left," Shaun said.
"It matters not when you get there. This has been arranged before you left earth the first time. All those babies you saved from their fathers will be taken by the elders and made to bear their children. Your precious little princess too," Charles said and then started shaking. "You will all die and all your brats along with you."
Blood started dripping from his eyes, so Luke pushed Chezlin and Shaun towards the doors. Shaun headed straight for the living room and sat down as the other two joined him.
"We will have to come up with our own plan. One thing is for sure. We can't land that vessel where we can be spotted. First thing we need to do is make sure that ship is operational and there are no other surprises waiting for us. We can get that done tomorrow morning. Once we are sure we will get home in one piece, we can start loading her up and keep that door locked at all times. No one, other than the three of us, go in there for any reason.
"I'm heading up to Amanda. I don't want her upset, but she will get mad if I don't tell her what he said. We can discuss our plan once we all had some sleep. Go look after those lovely ladies," Shaun said and stood to leave.
"Chez!" Jenna called from the top of the stairs. "Something's wrong."
