Chapter Four
This day has been getting progressively worse. First Kaine comes back into my life like a whirlwind, then Sebastian just shows up like its nothing and has the nerve to act 'natural' about it, and now this.
"Look Teagan, I don't understand what you're so angry about. I haven't done anything to you so please back off."
She had pulled me aside in the hallway-essentially making me late for class- just to yell at me about something completely irrelevant in my life.
"I know he's back, and he's mine, so stay the hell away from Sebastian, Okay?"
What? "Have you ever seen me willingly talk to him? Because I don't think I have. If we're talking it's because I don't have a choice," I said angrily. Who is this idiot to start yelling at me about things I can't help?
"Oh please, you're such a slut! You hang off his every word, and everyone knows you're in love with him. Stop trying to act innocent," she spat angrily.
I turned and just walked away without another word. I could hear her screaming for me to come back but I just ignored her because I really want to punch her.
Also I have P.E now and let's just say I absolutely hate P.E.
~
After I finished getting dressed I walked into the gym to find only two or three people ready. "Girls," I said as I rolled my eyes.
"I know right?"
I turned to see a familiar face. "Luke," I said smiling brightly. "Hey."
"Hey Fighter, you in P.E too I'm assuming," he said gesturing to my shorts and t shirt.
"Yeah, fun," I said sarcastically. I looked at his outfit which was grey shorts paired with a bright orange shirt with a deer on the front. "What is going on with your shirt?" I said containing my laughter.
"What's wrong with my shirt?" he said looking at me with his big blue eyes.
"Nothing- absolutely nothing."
He stared at me a blank expression on his face. "Now I'm shirt conscious. Thank Callie," he said pouting.
"Get over it," I said rolling my eyes again.
Talking to Luke was definitely entertaining and I liked that he pulled me away from the problems at hand.
In gym we played basketball-which I hate-and I can already tell I'm going to have bruises from where the girls where grabbing my arm.
After changing back into my normal clothes I headed off to Advanced Math. (A/N Keep in mind the levels in high school here are applied and academic. Advanced is above academic in this book, so super smart) I've never had a problem in math; equations just came easily for me.
A sheet was placed on my desk when I sat down, and the other students immediately began writing things down onto it.
'Advanced Mathematic Placement Application' was written in bold at the top of the sheet.
"Sir, what is this?" I said.
He looked up at me over his thick rimmed glasses, his white hair sprayed not unlike a peacock above his head slightly falling into his eyes. "It's an application test to see if you belong in my class. This is an extremely advanced class, so in order for you to stay you must score above eighty percent on that test."
Thanks for the pop quiz Albert Einstein.
Prove that cosx cos2x + sinx + sin2x =Cosx
I re read the question and wrote down my answer with ease, Starting from the left hand side: cos x cos2x +sinx +sin2x = cos(x-2x) = cos(-x)= cosx
I continued on with the question that got progressively harder as I continued with the test. None were too hard for me and I was done within ten minutes. I re read my answers to ensure I was correct and stood up.
"Mrs.Summer please remain seated until finished with your test," the old teacher said not looking up from his beaten and battered Shakespeare novel.
"Sir, I am finished."
A collection of gasps and the odd remark in hushed tone were emitting around the room.
"Impossible, no one has ever finished that fast before. Bring it here little one," he said holding out his hand, awaiting my test. I handed him the test and stood-as I was told too- at his desk awaiting my score.
"This is unbelievable," he muttered. "An almost perfect score, you received one wrong answer."
"What was it?" I said curiously.
"Number two, you added instead of multiplying."
I looked at my answer and realized his mistake, "Sir, I'm terribly sorry and I don't mean to correct you but that addition sign is a multiplication sign, my handwriting isn't the neatest but I can assure you it was done correctly," I said smiling apologetically.
"My god, you got absolutely perfect on a university level test, within ten minutes of distribution. You do not belong in my class; you belong at a much higher level Mrs. Summer."
I blushed and thanked him quietly, painfully aware of the jealous glares sent at me by my class mates. I'm not going to let them win, "Sir, if it's alright with you I would like to stay in this class, I think it would prove well for myself and others," I said looking directly at the class.
"Mrs. Summer, you are something else. If you ever need anything at school please, talk to me. I would be delighted to assist you in any way possible."
I liked this man.
~
After math I had lunch, so I waited patiently for my two best friends, Dannie and Alex to come to the cafeteria.
"Callie," I heard a familiar voice yell.
Turning around I could see Dannie, Alex, and Luke all heading this way.
"Hey guys, I see you met Luke too then?"
"Yeah, I have him in two of my classes," Alex says blushing.
I bet she likes him.
"Cool, are we staying here for lunch or can we go to Carlos'?"
Carlos' was a little fast food place within walking distance that sells poutine, fries, pizza, and a bunch of other things.
"Lets stay today because I didn't bring money," I said sheepishly.
"I'll pay for you babe," I heard his voice from behind me.
Pure fear consumed me, I could feel his breath on my neck sending shivers down my spine. "But you know I don't give anything without asking for something in return, right?"
I couldn't turn to look him in the eyes. My mama always told me to look a person in the eye when talking to them, a sign of respect. The thing is, I have no respect for Sebastian. Not after what happened.
"Callie! Callie look at what I found!" he said running towards me. The little blue eyed boy. He was running, an expression of pure joy etched onto his face. The little boy was holding something in his hand."I found it on the ground, some kids were running away but I didn't know why, it’s so cute," he said giggling. This little blue eyed boy looked genuinely happy.
"What is it?" I said cautiously.
He opened his hands revealing a tiny snake writhing around in his hold.
I screeched and shot backwards, almost tripping over my untied shoe laces."Get it away from me!" I yelled.
The little blue eyed boy frowned, looking confused. "Why?"
I screeched a little bit and ran away as fast as my tiny chubby legs could carry me.
That was the day the little blue eyed boy turned cold.
