I checked the time on my phone to see how late it was, we had been talking for a few hours. I grumbled a profanity before standing "I gotta go check on my mom" I said and walked towards the door "See ya around Jughead Jones" I paused "The third" I finished with a smirk and passed a ginger walking towards Jugheads table.
Little did I know, tomorrow morning would be the start of something horrible.
We found Jason Blossoms body floating in the river, his body was bloated and a bullet hole was in his forehead. I stared as they brought his body out 'I thought he drowned' I thought to myself. Monday morning the atmosphere had changed, I looked down at the collection of flowers at Jasons locker and felt strange. I saw a jock bump into Jug and yell "watch it Wednesday Adams" and shot him a death glare, he opened his mouth to spew some nonsense but it seemed like he was at a loss for words.
I heard principle WeatherBee over the speakers, talking about some pep rally. "Of course, a pep rally right after they find a body in the river." I mumbled to myself in the hallway.
I walked into science class, passing cheryl's 'friends' grilling her about what happened to Jason, She did seem pretty suspicious but I didn't really care about who did it. At least not yet. I looked around the classroom, Jughead sat alone without a parter, it seemed like he didn't want one but it was necessary for the lab. I gave him a soft smile and took the seat next to him "You're pretty much the only person I know so guess you're going to be stuck with me" I said, he smiled a little "God, why?" he asked the ceiling.
The next morning I sat in the student lounge, it was packed. Of course one of the stupid jocks was running his mouth and it was torture to my ears. I was just about ready to leave when the one known as Reggie started to talk about someone else. "What was it like suicide squad? When you shot Jason" he asked Jughead with a smug grin "You didn't do stuff to the body like, after?" I turned to face him, annoyance flashing in my silver eyes. "It's called necrophilia, Reggie. Can you spell it?" Jughead retorted and I stifled a laugh. Reggie shot up and stormed over to him, I saw the ginger boy from before start to move over but I stepped in between before he could. "What are you, his girlfriend, new girl? Move over before I-" I cut him off "What?" I asked "Before you what, hit me?" I asked him, stepping closer "I'm sure that will go over great with WeatherBee" I added with a grin. I saw Jughead give me a weird look, Reggie grumbled but stood his ground. "Well i'm sure things will go over great when everyone finds out you killed Jason" He said before joining his buddies again. I laughed "Sure, okay". A bunch of people stared at me and Jughead grabbed my arm, causing me to flinch a little. "You didn't have to do that for me" he said, shoving his hand into his pocket "I know" I said with a smile "But I wasn't just going to stand around while he talked to you like that" I said, now leaning against the wall. "Isn't that what friends are for?" I asked and he gave another weird look, he was slightly blushing "yeah I guess" he said with a soft smile right before the bell rang. "Goodbye mr. Jones" I nodded to Jughead "and Ginger" I nodded to the boy with bright orange hair next to him with a snicker before walking out the door, on my way out I heard him murmur something to Jughead, But I didn't think much of it.
I got home and prepared for the pep rally.
