Oh yes, the past can hurt. But you can either run from it or, learn from it.
-The Lion King

Curse me.
I passed out before him. I showed weakness.
To see the positive side, Amy felt that in one way or another the man who made her pass out the last night helped her. If he hadn't shown up, she wouldn't have known how much she had moved from her horrid past.
But at the same time he wrecked her emotions, her feelings, her sanity, basically her everything. He reminded Amelia so much of her family. The vanity which made her believe that her family was alive broke at the sight of him. He dragged her down to the reality that she was lonely and miserable like always.
He was there. He was there at their funeral, staring at Amelia with those intense grey eyes. It was Ethan who protected her from him. Though Ethan was devastated at the death of his wife and son, he hid Amelia in his shadows. Amy wished she remained in his protection instead of taking some worse decision which blew up her life.
And right then she took another worse decision. She added salt to her coffee instead of sugar. To the worst, she drank it. Immersed deep into her thoughts, Amelia drank an entire cup of sour coffee without realising it. At the end, realisation hit her with a baseball bat. Her throat chocked for nearly ten minutes. She drained the remnants of the cup into the sink.
Amy's pupils dilated when she saw it. Sheer terror dawned on her.
What is this? How come I've never noticed it before? Only one person could answer this question.
"Jaaaaaaake..." she screamed, "Where are you?"
Amy heard few thuds and stumbles and the next minute he was standing before her, panting. His hair and shirt were wet. Amy looked down at his waist which was wrapped in a towel.
"What happened?" Jake expected Amelia to be in a life threatening situation. His forehead was creased in anxiousness and his hands were gripping the towel preventing them from falling.
Shit I scared him out of the shower. Thank heavens he at least decided to wear a shirt before running all the way down.
Amy showed her wrist, "Umm.. Jake, do you know when this device came to my hand?"
Tied around Amy's wrist was a white smart watch like thing, which displayed her pulse level and blood pressure on its screen. She did own a smart watch, but it was black. She had no hint from where that weird crap suddenly came to her hand.
Jake glared at Amy, "Fuck you Amy. Did you call me all the way from the shower just for this?"
"Uh huh..Mind your language mister. Page number twelve, rule number one-fifty-two of our agreement states that you should not use f-words in your workplace, at your employer. And page number one, rule number one, states that you must show up before the employer whenever she calls despite of whatever situation you're in. I thought you at least read the first rule before joining."
"Pfft..Whatever" he frowned, "What do you want now?"
Amy stretched her arm at him, "Explain this"
Jake held Amy's palm between his fingers and examined the device. He turned it front and back, and found a lock between the strap. He pressed the button next to it. It didn't open. He kept pumping the button for the millionth time, yet it didn't budge.
