I stayed outside a bit longer until there looked to be hardly anyone else in the lobby. Then I slipped back into the cool room. Dan and Phil had gone to their room so I thought I might as well go to mine. I was sharing with this girl named Louise who I had met once before at another event. She seemed nice enough.
I went up the three flights of stairs to our room and got the key, quickly unlocking the door and walking inside. Louise wasn't in yet, that's when I remembered she wasn't coming until tomorrow morning. Thank goodness, I had one extra night just by myself.
I was so tired, I quickly got into my pyjamas and got into the uncomfortable bed. My eyes were shut right away and sleep quickly followed.
_____________
I couldn't sleep all that well because the bed was so uncomfortable and I woke up really early just staying in bed staring at the ceiling. I didn't feel well and I didn't want to have to go to the event today and talk to people and be social.
After staying in bed for an hour or so, I finally convinced myself to get up and go have breakfast. Breakfast food was something that would hopefully put me in a better mood. I got dressed and combed through my hair, putting it up in a messy bun. It would do for now.
There was hardly anyone down in the small breakfast room where I got my toast. I piled my plate high with the buttered bread and poured myself a cup of tea with some milk. I normally didn't drink tea, but for some reason I wanted some today.
I went and sat alone in a corner so I wouldn't have to talk to anyone and could eat in peace. It worked because no one came to talk to me and I was done eating in about five minutes. Well it almost worked.
Just as I was finishing the last piece of my toast a boy came over to my table and sat down. It was the boy from last night who had followed me out to the pool. I wondered breifly what he wanted.
"Hey," he said and then he smiled and that smirk, for some odd reason, sent butterflies erupting down my spine.
