KAY. Hahaha. :D I know the update came a little late than I promised (we had a spontaneous 4-day trip, no internet) but here it is! :D I should warn you, though. I didn't mean for this chapter to be so... dramatic. :| But really, that conversation (between Shamden) just had to happen one way or another. Hope you like it. :)

Oh, and one more thing--IT'S ANOTHER SHORT CHAPTER! Huffah! Sorry, but I'll try making the next one less dramatic and longer. =]

P.S. The Author's Note got really long, so I wanted to ask, do people even read these? XD

Chapter Twenty Three- The Date

Oh. My. God. Shea, u will NOT believe what I'm seeing ryt now. Sending u a pic. W8 4 it.

                Sher was right.

I could not—at all—believe what I was seeing. Well, it was just a picture, but still… Oh, god. It was a picture of me, back in middle school when I still had braces. It was a headshot, for the school, and the photographer took the shot at the “one” when he counted, so my face was… Errrr…

Anyways, that picture? It was hanging on a wall at school, a big, big, big, big banner with that face and the words “The prettiest girl on earth. Your Secret Admirer.”

                Dear god.

“Wow.” A voice murmured behind me. I cringed away, recognizing the voice and feeling his breath right behind my ear. I twisted and looked up to see Cam gazing at my phone’s screen, bending forward (I’m sitting) so that his head was just a few inches from mine. I quickly dropped my hand and hid the phone out of his view.

“Finished eating?” I asked him, eyeing his plate, which was, in fact, empty.

“Yup,” he answered, smiling at me as he straightened up.

“So,” I said, “why are you bothering me?”

I could feel everyone’s stare on us. Seriously. The idiot is obviously, obviously enjoying this. I could even see Dylan elbowing Alex, pointing at us and chuckling. I rolled my eyes.

“Actually,” Cam said, “I was wondering if you’d like to take a walk with me—”

                “Absolutely no,” I replied immediately.

                “—and Ciara?”

I paused and glanced up to see Ciara staring at me hopefully.

“I’d take a walk with Ciara. You can stay here with the rest, Cam.”
