// Luke and Ashton >>>>>>>
CHAPTER 5: COFFEE AND REJECTIONS
# ASHTON #
The club fair is officially over. I stuck to glee club. I'm in a band after all. I specialize music. Nothing else.
"Ashton!" I turned to see Calum. "Hey," I beamed. "Where are you heading?" he asked. "Grabbing coffee," I answered. "I'll go with," he said. "I want coffee too!"
We went to the school café. I was looking forward to getting a cup of cinnamon mocha when I froze at the image by the window sill.
It was Frankie. My Best Girl Friend, Frankie. She wasn't alone though. She was with... Earl Watson??
"Watson's back," Calum announced. "I can see that," I told him. "He came back after a year of disappearance."
I watched Earl and Frankie laughing and talking. For some reason, I didn't find the view good.
Normally I would find it funny since the only guy Frankie really hangs out with are the House of Paix lads; not others.
I don't get it. Are they on a date? Did Watson ask her out? Does she like him? Does he like her? Darn it. She has a lot to tell me.
"Let's go," I grabbed Calum by his arm then went to the school coffee shop. "Hey, what the--?!" he let out.
I told Calum to be quiet, and I acted like we were looking for seats so I could hear what they were saying.
"...I couldn't believe you had to practice around 4 in the morning," Frankie told Watson. "I'd feel like the walking--- Ashton?" Frankie and Watson turned to me and Cal.
"Oh, hey Frankie!" I beamed. "And...??" I looked at Watson. "Earl," he finished for me. "Earl Watson."
I nodded. "Well," I said. "Aren't you Mr. swimming golden boy?" Frankie scoffed. "He's a diver actually," she corrected. "And I'm surprised you forgot him, Ash. You were the one who introduced us 2 years ago."
I felt myself flush. It was true. 2 years ago, Earl and I got stuck in a Biology report so I invited him over. I introduced him to Frankie, who told me he was hot when he left that night.
"Its fine," Earl smiled. "I don't really expect anyone to remember me, but it's nice to see you again, Ashton." I smiled. "You too, Earl," I said.
"Earl," Calum greeted. "Hey Cal," Earl got up and gave Cal the bro. fist. "Nice to see you. You still in the soccer team?"
Calum shook his head. "Nice to see you too, mate," he responded. “But no, I traded soccer for my band. Music lover and all.” Earl nodded.
"So," I started. "What brings you here?" Frankie was about to say something, but Watson beat her to it. "A globe almost hit Frankie," Earl explained. "So I pushed her out of the way."
"You didn't even tell me!” I growled. "I was fine!” Frankie snapped all stubborn. "Thanks to Earl!" Earl nodded idly.
"I wanted to take her to the infirmary," he added. "But she insisted on being fine, so I took her here." I nodded. "She's a stubborn one," I smirked. "She's crazy, she's---"
"Don't you have something else to do, Ash?!” Frankie said. "Because coffee shops are places meant for chilling and coffee." Calum laughed.
"We were just getting coffee," he stepped in. "Then Ashton saw you guys, and we thought that we should say hi." Bless Calum and his alibis.
"Well," Frankie said awkwardly. "Hi?" Earl laughed. "Really cute, Frankie," he pointed out. She blushed. My blood boiled beyond boiling point.
"Well," Calum grabbed me. "We have to go. See you later!" He dragged me to the counter. "What the heck?!” I said in disbelief. "Watson saved her life!"
"I actually think that's a positive thing," Calum pointed out. "NO!” I growled. "I don't think I like Frankie and Watson together!" Calum shrugged.
"Shouldn't you be happy?” Calum asked. "A guy rarely talks to Frankie because she's a dude-ish girl. Now, Watson decides to talk to her, you don't seem to like it."
I scoffed. Any guy would be lucky if they date Frankie, and I'd be happy if Frankie gets a boyfriend; just not Watson.
I don't trust Watson. I don't trust him, his brown hair, his ocean, blue eyes and his 8-pack. Oh, and I don't trust him enough to date Frankie. That's it.
# LUKE #
Michael disappeared after his mini showdown with Mercedes, Calum and Ashton wanted a break, so I'm alone with my fellow glee member, Cody. Just us.
Right now, we're actually cleaning up the booth. We finished earlier than expected since a lot signed up in the first hour. It's ironic how a music club could be so popular here.
Aleisha's also in the glee club, but she was no show today. It's a bummer since I wanted to talk to her. You know, set things straight.
"Luke," Mr. Powell, our glee club director, approached us. "Auditions are tomorrow dismissal. You boys can watch them with me if you want. I need part of your judgement."
"Sure, sir," I told him. He nodded and turned to leave but my mind reacted. "Mr. Powell," I called. He turned. "Yes, Luke?" he asked.
"Do you know where Aleisha is?" I asked. "She was no show today." Mr. Powell frowned. "You don't know?" he asked. I shrugged. He sighed.
"Aleisha quit," he stated. "She joined the acapella club instead. It's a bummer since she's so talented." My eyes widened in shock.
Aleisha and I were in glee club, that's how we met and started dating. We broke up a year ago, and now she quit glee club?! It was the symbol of our relationship. I can't believe her.
"Are you alright, Luke?” Mr. Powell asked. I nodded. "I'll be back," I said. "I forgot something in my house." I ran out of the oval where we were having the club fair.
I ran around the school, looking for Aleisha. I have to talk to her. We may have broken up, but I know glee club means something to her. It means something to me too.
I ran to the House of Fierté, that's where she's staying. Immediately, I spotted a blonde girl with a guitar, sitting on the front porch. I cautiously approached her.
When she saw me, she got up and turned her heel. "Wait!” I told her. "Drop it, Luke!” she demanded. "I know what you're going to say. No, alright?! Just leave me alone!"
"Please!” I pleaded. "You can't just do that. Glee club means something to you!" I was so desperate.
"It did," she said. "But not anymore. We broke up, okay? I moved on, and you should too!"
"This isn't about us!", I snapped. "Yes, it is!” she yelled. "Deny it, but I know you Luke Hemmings! Please get over it. We're done. Stop trying so hard to get me. It's never going to happen. Move on!"
I felt tears stinging my eyes, but I'm trying so hard to fight them back. I can't believe it. This is real. This is real.
"I thought you loved me," I croaked. She sighed and shook her head. "I did," she said. "I loved you, but that was the past. It's not the same anymore. I'm sorry about this. Move on, because it's never coming back. I'm sorry Luke." She went inside her house, and closed the door.
No one has ever made me feel this broken before, and it hurts too much. People want me to live in the present, but I can't help but hold on to the past.
I guess this is it. It's Aleisha who's in my heart, and it will always be her.
// Okay, I love Aleisha. But we need to make some drama in the story, okay? No hate xx
