The upbeat background music of the bar seems to fade into the sound of a flat line heart monitor. All I hear is the deafening screech in my ears as I sat on the red leather couch with my jaw still on the ground.
I know why I came here in the first place and that was to see them. But being this close only felt like I am dreaming. They are idols. I have always kept that in mind for a such a long time now. I have developed this mentality that for a fan like me, I won't really stand a chance on seeing them.
So, I expected the worst for tonight. I looked forward to the false hope and disappointment of not seeing them at all. I looked forward to going home crying in front of their pictures and wishing that a time would come when I could finally meet them. But, I think, that time is now.
I snapped back to reality when I felt my saliva dripping from my mouth. With pure embarrassment, I quickly wiped it off with the clean napkin on top of our table.
"Way to go Eun Gi, you drool better than a bulldog." I said to myself as I wipe my mouth.
I noticed that Clyn is still staring at them so I nudged her with great force to catch her attention. It took me about three pushes before she faced me with entranced eyes.
"Clyn! sit down!" I said over the loud music and urged her to take a sit.
My eyes flew back to them, BTS. They seem to be having such a good time because I see Taehyung dancing along to the beat of the music. My mind flashes back on the YouTube videos of V being super super extra and I laugh at the sight in front of me right now. With or without a camera, they are still the same.
Same goes for Jin. We are less than 3 meters away from their lounge and I can hear his particular laugh. I see him throwing his head backwards while laughing at something Jungkook said.
On Jungkook's side is J-Hope laughing along with the maknae and the eldest. He makes faces to exaggerate the conversation they are are duly engrossed in. Meanwhile, Suga and Rapmon looks so chill as I see them laid back on their couch and just casually sipping their drinks. I can see them having small talks about something that Rap Monster pointed out on the dance floor. And knowing Namjoon, it's probably about a woman.
Clyn and I must be one hell of a sight, I mean that sarcastically. I bet we look like we haven't seen food for days but we can't eat it so we just drool helplessly.
"Eun Gi-ahhh~ Kaja~ Let's go say hi to them and tell them we're fans." Clyn said as she slowly stands up from the leather couch.
The thought is too appealing to even say No. In fact, this is the main reason why we came here in the first place.
My eyes fly back to BTS as Clyn urged me to stand up. Looking at them this chill and careless about anything makes my heart clench. It's obvious that this dim, loud and intoxicating hotel bar is their only time away from the cameras. But before I could object, Clyn pulled me too hard making my whole body come forward. Next thing I know, I am being dragged to their lounge by a very determined Clyn.
We are inches away from BTS when I snapped."Clyn! N-n-no! No! I don't want to say Hi." I pull back my arm that she's gripping so tightly.
"What?! Yah, this is why we came here. I don't wanna sit there and gawk. This is BTS!"
"I know! But this is BTS. I want them to have some time away from fans and cameras. It would be disrespectful to bother them now."
"Eun Gi-ahhhh~ Kaja! This is our only chance."
"No! Come on. Let's go back."
Clyn wouldn't let go so it looks like we're playing tug of war using my arm. I try to pull back but she kept on insisting. I'm telling you, this girl is too strong. Being the captain of their cheering squad, I couldn't compete with the amount of exercise she exerts in her body. So our little game is just a piece of cake.
I can feel the eyes of other people on us. They are meters away but I can sense their judgement. This is getting too embarrassing. With one hard pull, I was able to release from Clyn's grip. The only downfall is, my body starts to stumble back as I lose my balance.
I can feel my body swaying as i look for something to grip on. I turned quickly only to collide with someone tall. In that split second of choosing whether to fall on my face or to just straight up hold on to this person, I chose the latter. My hands instinctively hold on to the man's shoulders as my face buries in his chest because of the impact.
In that moment, I think of clapping my hands in achievement. This is better than landing face first on the floor. Bars have the tendency to make you feel clumsy anyway, so I could just pretend to be drunk and just say sorry. I slowly lift my face from the man's chest as I regained my balance. I slowly stand up while still holding on to the stranger's shoulders, I felt a sudden waft of coldness in my body. I looked down at my dress only to find it completely soaked with alcohol. "How lucky you are, Eun Gi." I spoke to myself.
To complete my act, I swayed a bit to prove my "drunkenness" and wipe my mouth with the back of my hand. I blink back the blur and look at the man with my very pretentious drowsy eyes.
I start to pull off the fakest giggle I could muster. "M-mian.. Haha.. But you spilled-" My words were caught up in my throat as the lighting of the bar hit the man's face.
I stumble back from shock as my eyes turn into circles.
"Woah there baby." The familiar man said as he tried to catch me in his arms once again.
"Y-you're.." My words betray me as I choke in front of the man I admire for years. As if I don't have enough embarrassment, I just stood there with my eyes and mouth wide open.
He wrapped his arms around my waist to keep me in balance.
"Park Jimin. Nice to meet you and yes I spilled my drink. Now, you owe me a Margarita."
