"you will all go around the and look for locations of interest. i know not many of you can drive so it's totally fine to have all of your locations really close by. you will have to go to at least ten places. bring a souvenir from all your places. you guys have three weeks. start planning!"
"god i can. not. work with her," tyler hissed at pete.
"what? why not? she's kinda hot? small boobs, and that whole tomboy look but still kinda hot," pete said back.
"pete shut your ass up and listen. i can't work with her. i met her yesterday and she was rude as hell."
"talking shit about me? maybe we should work on our project instead, tyler?" ruby seemed to appear out of nowhere.
tyler waved goodbye to pete, grabbed his bag and the pair made their way to an empty table.
"look about yesterday-" tyler started.
"i was in a bad mood. let's just put it behind us." ruby said.
"no that's not it. you stole. and it was gum. i could've just bought that for you. it was like what? $3?" tyler explained.
"can you just get over it? please?" she didn't make eye contact with tyler and she fidgeted with the corner of the project outline package.
"fine let's just plan where we're gonna go." tyler nodded.

"okay so after school today we're going to the aquarium?" tyler asked as ruby and him made their way into the hallway.
"ugh. yeah, i guess," she said and rolled her eyes and turned to walk off. tyler grabbed her arm and turned her back to him. he quickly let go when he saw her face filled with annoyance.
"can we just- can't we just-"
"can't we just what tyler? hmm? we're two totally different people, okay? we won't magically become friends because of this project. just accept that," ruby said sternly.
"no please. i don't care if we're friends or not. i just don't want us to hate each other the whole time. can we just start over?" tyler practically pleaded. he truly didn't want there to be conflict between the two.
"sure."
"hi i'm tyler. and you are?"
"ruby. now fuck off."
