In which he thought she was dead

or

For 900 years, she traveled and lived with the Mikaelsons—with her family. Until Mikael found them, found the home they'd managed to build in the 200 years of living in New Orleans. Only, it was burned to the ground by the man they once called 'Father'.

But Belle had fallen with the city. When trying to get to her family, Mikael had found her, taken her before she could leave. He kept her prisoner for nearly a century before a witch desiccated him.

Though, this whole time, the Mikaelson family believed Mikael had killed her.

They believed she truely did burn with New Orleans. They were heart broken. Klaus was the worst.

He couldn't speak her name for centuries. He couldn't bare to even think of New Orleans. He drowned in his sorrows—and liquor. He used blood and booze to help his mourning, however it didn't truely help.

But for her death, Klaus vowed vengeance against his father. He vowed to not leave her death in vain.

Oh, if only he knew.

NOTE:
As someone who has severe anxiety and is affected by just about every aspect of life, including things that make me happy, this is a disclaimer for those who have similar experiences. This book has a happy ending and basically zero angst. Knowing this about books/tv shows I have read/watched previously has helped me prevent and manage anxiety while ingesting media. I love reading, but not knowing whether a book will have angst, and/or a bad ending, gives me anxiety while I read and often affects the experience. I hope this disclosure can help anyone who has similar experiences!
