Chapter I: Noah
I'm dreading today already as I push through the double wide doors to the high school at Hawthorne's public school. People part way for me like Moses in the red sea. I get so tired of this game where everyone pretends to like me so they can say they had something with Noah Strauss the first draft pick for college hockey in the A division.
My stomache drops a little when i see the number of girls all flocked near my locker.
Their song leader was my on again off again friend with benefits.
"My parents will be gone all weekend Noah. It can just be me and you," Jessic purred stroking my forearm. I shrugged her off, her perfume was giving me a headache. If she wasn't so good in bed I'd tell her off and be done with her. However, I had an itch that needed to be scratched. The other girls around me all gave her nasty looks. One of them even winked at me. I resisted the urge to gag.
The girls who tried to be subtle would laugh too loud when I walked near them. Purposefully avoid my gaze, it was all a game to these girls, but what they didn't know was I was always two if not more steps ahead of them in this game.
Every girl here wanted me. Except one.
I saw a black halo of hair bob and weave through the crowd of tramps around me with an irritated scowl. Her ripped blue jeans fit her curves just right and I felt mesmerized as her hips swayed. She definitely gave off an air of attitude. My eyes traveled up to her tight black tee shirt, but for once they didn't stop there. The shirt stopped just above her jeans showing a small amount of her flat stomach and my god I wanted to touch it. I met her stormy gray eyes and they just seemed to darken at the sight of me, like she was irritated that she'd even made eye contact. Her eyes didn't flit away in embarrassment like most girls rather they rolled in a sardonic manner like she couldn't be bothered with preppy high school boys like me.
She shouldered Jessica on her way past and flipped us all off when Jessica snarled after her."Watch it bitch."
Puck Greene.
A girl with an attitude that simply said, 'bite me.'
She was my challenge. The only one that wouldn't fall at my feet. And Secretly I loved it. I loved that she was the only one that would give it right back to me.
I ditch the bitch squad and head to my locker before Chemistry. My best friend Daniel goes here too, but we don't have any of the same classes this year which is a bummer. The day seemed to blur like I was just going through the motions. I finally made it to my last class of the day and I couldn't be anymore thankful that it was almost over.
When I get to Mrs. LeBlancs room I head straight to my seat. Which is directly behind Puck Greene.
She smells like lavender and sunshine. It was comical considering everything about her was dark, from her black hair to her stormy eyes. I inhaled her scent before she whirled around flashing those stormy gray eyes at me, her cherry red lips twisted into a sneer.
"Are you done sniffing me Strauss," she hissed.
I couldn't help it I grinned and leaned forward inhaling deeply and slowly. Heat crawls up her neck her pale porcellaine cheeks flaming, but her eyes are angry.
"Yup," I wink before sitting back in my chair. She snaps back around and I try to stop the shakiness in my hands. Her long black hair was in the prettiest braid that I didn't have a name for.
