The ride to the mall was filled with Jenn eating her ice cream and jamming to music. For me, it was not as fun. I sat in the drivers seat wondering what I felt for Nathan. How did she manage to assume I loved him. I haven't loved anyone since Elizabeth died.
"Thank you so much for taking me manda. I haven't been able to shop with another girl since like forever." Jenn said as we were walking out of a clothing store.
I laughed, "I love shopping. Now let's go get our nails done." I smile and lifted her up and walked to the nail salon which was Farley close.
"Hello, welcome to flowers nail salon. I'm Leslie and what will you be getting today?" Leslie smiles. Although I suppose they have to since they work in the salon.
"I'll be getting a full set of acrylics and Jenn will be getting a manicure and we both will be getting a pedicure." I smiled signing into the salon.
"Something special going on or is it just a girl night?" She smiled walking us to our nail table.
" Just a girls night. We have to stay youthful." Jenn giggles and our nails begin getting worked on.
"How'd you and Nathan meet?" Jenn started the conversation.
"Well, long story short. I accidentally hit him with a door. Two days ago" I laughed.
"You hit. Nathan. With a door?" She looked at me with confusion. Just confusion.
"Yeah... I didn't see him behind me." Leslie giggled as she was doing jenn's nails. I look at the time " 2:17pm" I wasn't planning on shopping all day but I guess it's okay. I'll just get Jenn back home by 3pm. If I'm not wrong. Nathan gets off at 3:15pm.
"That's a nice way to meet." Jenn replies.
"All done!" Jenn got a pastel purple which went well hit her hazel green eyes.
"Is it okay if I wait for manda to be done with her nails" she asked Leslie.
"Yes of course!" Leslie replied. I was nearly done so I didn't mind much.
"Why are your nails longer?" She asked me and I was getting my nails painted a nude color.
"Well acrylics are fake nails. They are so bad for your nails though."
"I can't wait till I'm old enough to be as pretty as you. I hope you and Nathan stay friends for a long time." She said smiling. She has a smile like her brother's. The one that makes you believe in hope. The one that can make you feel better. It was one that Elizabeth had. No wonder she always had the boys around her.
"You're beautiful now. I can't imagine how much more beautiful you can get." She hugged me just in time for my nails to be done.
"Okay ladies. Let's get our toes done!!" Leslie was very peppy for her job. Jenn seemed to enjoy it. She jumped out her seat screaming "yay!!" She got a cute small chair that had a dog on it. She could choose between the dog one or the cat one. "Are you a dog or cat person Jenn?" I asked.
"I'm a doggie person. I love animals but doggies are my favorite. What about you?" She asked me back.
"I'm a dog type person."
"What about you Leslie?" She asked
"I love cats!" Leslie smiled and continue to do her job. I look at the time. "2:45pm" I'm running out of time oh god. Nathan is going to hate me. Well not literally but Jenn is suppose to be home before 3.
"Are we almost done?" Jenn says, " I'm a little hungry."
"I'll put top coat on and you can be out your way!" Leslie says.
"yay!!!"
I was done all ready. I just waited for Jenn to finish. She talked with Leslie so it slowed Leslie down a little bit.
"All done Jenny" jenny got up and hugs Leslie. It amazes me that Jenny is such a happy vibe child. Even with out her parents.
"$96.56 that will be" Leslie says. I pay with my card and tip her $10. My phone buzzes.
Nathan
"Hey can you meet me at the cheese cake factory for dinner? :)"

Amanda
"On my way!"

"Lets go to the cheese cake factory Jenny!"
The cheese cake factory wasn't very far. It was on the other side of the mall so I just drove us there. "Is Nathan going to be there?" She asked
"Awe do you miss your brother all ready!" I said smiling at her.
"Yeah just a little bit. Usually I'm with him. It's weird having a girl take care of me."
"Yes, he will be there." I say grabbing my wallet and phone and then her hand to help her get out the car. We make our way to the factory and I see Nathan waiting in front of the door.
"BUB!!!!!!" She runs and Nathan catches her.
"I missed you so much!!" Jenn says with her face in the crevasse of Nathan's neck.
"Did you have fun?" He asked putting her down.
"Of course I did! I don't want Amanda to leave ever!" She says holding my hand.
"Good, because" he goes to a bench and grabs a rose and another journal, "I was hoping that Amanda will be my girlfriend for a long time."
I gasp. Not knowing what to say. He grabs me into a hug. "I got you a journal because I ran into your mom coincidently while buying this rose. She was looking at roses too and started a conversation with me. Later to find out that you're the daughter of Bettye Shockman. She said you love to write. So I got a journal for you to write about our adventures if you choose to say yes. I understand that it's only been three days. You haven't gotten to know me very well, but something tells me that this is a right thing to do at the right time. Love isn't measured in the days."
Tears filled my eyes. Jenn couldn't keep her happiness inside. "YES, SHE SAYS YES!!!" Jenn screams. "Do you Amanda?"
"Of course I do. I can't wait to see what this journal will be filled with." I say hugging him with tears in my eyes.
"Thank you. Now let's get something to eat I all ready have a table reserved." Jenny screams and grabs Nathan's hand in one hand and my hand in the other just like the night we first met. We walk into the cheese cake factory. Together. Our first date. A new begging. The first page to a love story.
