First & Last Heartbreak 💔

Recap;

These girls literally made me feel small with their stares and whisperings. Slowly, when everyone on our level knows about Mike and I.. Even the girls in my class started whispering and glance at me when I walked in the class.

"I don't like this." I sighed when everyone left for break.

"So? You are not going to eat just because a few girls are jealous of you?" Natalie scolded.

"I hate feeling weak.." A tear escaped my eye.

And that's what I did exactly. I avoided everyone except for Chiqa and Natalie.

I avoided him the most. I tried not to make any contact in school and I can see he was frustrated. The second day, he completely ignored me too. But, occasionally when we happened to look at each other, we would hold the gaze a little longer. I hope he understands but I see him shaking his head as he turned away first.

I sighed as I went to class and settle down.

"Mike's girlfriend is in this class!" I heard one voice shouted from outside. I ignored the stares coming from the girls in my class.

"Hey.. Ignore them. They are just jealous." JK, Mike's friend who is my classmate said as he tapped on my chair.

I nod and said thanks before opening my textbook and lying my head down for a short rest.

"You sure you didn't want anything from the stall?" Nat asked me and I shook my head, still facing my desk.

She gave me a little pat before going off. I could hear voices near the staircase closest to our back door.

5 minutes before lunch ends, I decided to use the toilet first. I was looking down hence I did not realised who was infront of me.

I heard someone cleared his throat and when I looked up, it was Mike and Ethan. Ethan was smirking but I pretended not to see either as I struggled to walk past them to reach the toilet. Do they really have to stand at this squeezy corridoor?



Thankfully when I left the toilet, he was no longer standing there but everyone is rushing to use the toilet now. Phew.

I dragged myself back to class and saw him talking to Melisa but his eyes caught mine the instant I looked up to see him. I shake off the jealous feeling and went into the class.

"Sorry guys. I'm not up to hanging out today. Some other days?" I promiser Chiqa and Natalie.

"If you need us.. we are here okay?" Chiqa hugged me as they leave first. I waited until everyone leaves before I pack my bag and leave too. So far, everyone has either went home or CCA for some. Good. I don't want to bump into anyone and feel belittled once again.

I walked home following the same route, going to plug in my earphones when I heard laughters and chatters from the block beside.

No one would be this rowdy unless it's Mike's clique. Sure enough, I noticed him sitting and chatting with Ethan but surrounded by girls.

When he turned and noticed me, I pretended to not see him and walked on but what he did next was totally unexpected.

"Sky! Wait up!" He shouted as he took his bag and run towards me.

I could hear snickers and groans coming from his group as he shushed them up.

"Wassup?" I asked him casually.

"Let me.. let me walk you home." He said as he walked beside me.

"But you are hanging out with your friends. Plus, my house is just 7 mins walk from here." I point over to my not so visible house.

"I can always come back later and hang out with them. Please?" He gave me the puppy eyes and I couldn't say no. I chuckled and nod my head.

He was sweet enough to pull me in the sidewalk as he walk on the outside. We didn't talk much though. He was sharing about school and I talked about class. Nothing serious.

"Ohhh you live nearby.." He commented.

"Where do you live?" I asked.

"Further. Roughly 20 minutes journey from school?" He answered.

We walking up the pavement from my house bustop and he was literally staring at me, not looking in front.

"Stop staring." I said shyly looking away.

That's when he walked into the pillar and we both ended up laughing at his silliness.

"Are you okay though?" I asked when I see him touching his forehead.

He nods, still laughing.

"Maybe it will be better after you hugged me?" He suggested and I looked away.

"Hey... I was just kidding." He said when he sees how awkward I felt.

I turned back and side hugged him before rubbing his forehead.

"Hope it doesn't leave a bump." I said sincerely and he smiled widely.

"Thank you dear."

"We are here." I said as we reached my house.

"I'll see you tomorrow then." He said bowing.

"See you." I said walking away but still turning back time to time. Thing is, he was there until I went in my home.

Mum is home early today.

"Someone's in a good mood today." Mum chimed and I went into her embrace and lay down on the lap.

"Mum. Remember the boy I talked to you about on my first day?" I asked and she laughed.

"Yeah."

"Well. He ask me out.." I break the news expecting her to get mad but she is all smiles.

"Enjoy it while you are still young. But don't take it seriously." She played with my hair.

"I know mum.."
