Chapter 10 - Kodie

Marrisa, Deimonte, Jack and Peter came from Venus with a few survivors, and shortly after Mary and Tanisha came from Mars with another group of survivors. Everyone was really happy to see their friends and 'family,' and it was a beautiful moment. At least, it was up until somebody came and ruined it.
"OMG! Jacko! Goth! You're all here!"
"seriously?!" Jackie sighed. It was Kodie Lewis. Instinctively, Mary, Tanisha, Amy, Deimonte and Marrisa stood next to Jackie until they had made a defensive and threatening barrier.
"so, you're still alive eh?" Mary spat. Suddenly, tears began to fall from Kodies eyes. He collapsed on the floor and began to cry - he sounded like a drunk opera singer.
"Owen.. Harry.. Ethan..they're all gone. And.. And.." Kodie was shaking now
"and Mary."
Mary (the alive one - the other one was his girlfriend) began to laugh, but unexpectedly, Jackie nudged her. Even more unexpectedly, she knelt down next to him and patted him on the back.
"Alright Kodie. Alright. Come on, it's OK, I'm here." she comforted him. Her friends stared at her like she was mad. There she was, her arm around Kodie Lewis. Kodie Lewis. It was, in a way, completely mind blowing.
"Jackie.. What are you doing?" Marrisa frowned.
"Jackie, Kodie has been mean to us for ages, and yet you're still being nice to him? What the hell?!" Mary asked with a hint of frustration. Kodie also looked very confused, but he was still grateful for Jackie's shoulder to cry on.
"they're right. Why are you being nice to me?" he chocked out through his tears.
"Kodie, I'm gonna be honest here - you have no friends."
Mary laughed very loudly, and a few others joined in.
"no real friends anyway." Jackie continued as the laughter died down.
"if they were still alive, which is very unlikely but still possible, they wouldn't put their arm around you and support you. They would stare at you in confusion and probably walk away. They wouldn't know what to do. Even when you picked on us with them, I always knew that you had no real friends. They're all fake."
Kodie nodded in agreement.
"you're right. I don't know why I was mean to all of you. My friends.. Well, that's what I thought they were.. They encouraged me. They pushed me into it. I know it looked like I was leading the group, but that was never the way it was. You didn't deserve it. Any of you." he looked up at the squad. "and what was really amazing is that you all stood up for each other. I'm just such a jerk."
"yep. You really are." said Jackie.😥😭
