Mia's POV

After class, I got a text from Daniel.

Hey Mia. I can't make it to lunch. I'm gonna go out with Jax. See you after school?

Yeah no problem, Who's Jax?

Oh, he's just some guy that I met yesterday. Oh yeah,do you want to join us?

I'm fine. Don't worry about me. I lasted 6 years without you. I could handle a couple of hours.

Sure, see ya after school

At least, he has friends. I'm fine with him not spending time with me during school hours. I mean we're together all the time. We need some time apart right? I got my lunch and looked for a table. Once I sat down, oh no, not them again.

"Why are you in my seat?"

"Maddie." Her boyfriend? said.

"Hi Maddie. I'm-"

"Still in my seat."

"Right, sorry, I'll move." I said about to stand up before Emma came.

"No. Mia sit. They're just gonna have to find another table." she said as I sat down.

"Matilda." Maddie said

"It's Mia." this girl behind her said. Katie?

"Yeah, whatever. Don't listen to her." I said standing up again.

"No." Emma said

"Yes."Maddie replied.

"No."

"STOP IT!" he yelled.

"Diego, back us up here." Andi said.

"Proxy, make them leave now!" Maddie said to Diego or Proxy? You know what! This school is weird!

"Guys, could you just move?" he said.

"But-" Emma said before she noticed I was already at another table.

"You got lucky this time Van Pelt." Andi said.

"Hi Mia." Emma said as they both sat with me.

"Thanks for....that." I said.

"What?That small little thing?" Andi said.

"It was no biggy. It's what friends are for." Emma said.

"Yeah...right." I said before taking a bite of my burger. "Can I ask you a question?"(me) "I need to ask you something."(emma) we both said at the same time.

"Huh?" we both said.

"What was that?" I asked.

"No, you first."

"It's ok. What is it?"

"Well, As the vice president of the student body, I get to make a speech at the assembly next friday. I'm really good at that but the problem is the assembly is about Science. There's going to be a lot of people, Scientists from around the globe, people from the district, someone from the White house. And I need help on my speech."

"And you want me to help you?"

"YES! But only if you want to." she said.

"Well, if it's for Science....I'll think about it." I said before her big smile turned into a ok smile.

"Oh. Well, thanks. What did you have to say?"

"Oh nothing. I just wanted to ask, who is he?" I said pointing at that guy from earlier.

"Oh, that's Diego." Andi said.

"PROXY!" Maddie yelled then I looked at them confused.

"She's the only one who calls him that." Emma said.

"He's a member of the sharks. So am I." Andi explained.

"His sister is the school gossiper, she could NEVER keep her mouth shut. Tell her a secret and it'll be on the internet in less than 2 seconds." Emma said.

"His family owns the Seven and Beachside 7." Andi said.

"And he's kind of my cousin." Emma said.

"And them?" I said pointing at the 3 girls.

"That's the Panthers. Maddie Van Pelt, head, president of the student body and Diego's *swallows hard* girlfriend." Emma said.

"Katie Rice, Maddie's best friend and wannabee head of the panthers. She's smart too." Andi said.

"And let me guess?" I said looking at the last one. "Sophie Johnson. She's very gullible and VERY SLOW when it comes to knowledge." I added.

"How did you know?" Emma asked.

"Well one, her bag has 'Sophie Johnson' on it and she doesn't look hard to figure out. I mean Look at her." I said pointing to her as she ate a paper bag.

"She was probably spying on me earlier in the lockers." Andi said.

"Why?" I asked

"Because Maddie doesn't like the fact that I spend too much time with her Proxy!" she said imitating her when she said proxy. "So she thinks I like him. Which will NEVER happen."

*cough*cough* (Emma)

"Em....." Andi said looking at Emma freaking out...

"Did you know that Andi..."

"Please."

"Andi, had a crush on Diego when they first met!"

"That's nice..." I said smiling the best I could. This is getting boring, I mean the five minutes were ok but when we started talking about boys, it didn't seem that amusing. Once I finished my food, I got up, excused myself and left.

"I gotta go."

"Now? But I haven't told you about this boy I met yesterday!" Emma said.

"I uh have to call my mom." I said before running away and it's a good thing i did because once I got to my locker Daniel called.

"Hey Daniel." I said

"Hey Mia." he said.

"So, what's the problem?"

"Problem? No problem."

"Yes, there is. You only call me if there's something important and if it's not important, you text me and say, "Can we talk? I'm bored?" I said giving him my best impression of him.

"I do not sound like that!"

"Uh, you do, now what's the problem?"

"Do you mind waiting for me like 1 or 2 hours after school?"

"2 hours?!?"

"or just 1."

"Why?"

"So, Jax invited me to tryout for the Sharks!"

"Oh, ok. (Sharks? Andi and Emma!) Actually I have something to do so I have to go home early."

"You want me to walk you home before tryouts?"

"No, I'm fine. Like what I said, I could take care of myself."

"Ok well, text me later when you get home and I'll call you when I'm heading home."

"Sure."

"Bye."
