Mia's POV

It's been weeks since we moved to Miami. And as usual, Daniel and I still have our Movie Nights on Saturdays and we have a new tradition! Since in Orlando we would always go to the Book Scoop on Tuesdays, we decided that on Wednesdays, we will go to the Seven! I was getting ready for school then after breakfast, walked outside. The past few weeks have been going according to plan, Daniel has been so busy with swim team, academics, Emma.. Yeah I know about Demma. mostly because I'm subscribed to the MIss Information website! I don't even know how it happened! Nobody even suspects that we're friends! We only see each other on weekends and stuff.

"Mia!" Daniel said running to me once I got out of the house.

"Daniel!" I said. "Woah, ran a marathon?"

"Yeah,*catches breath* trying to*catches breath* catch up to you." he said.

"Oh, well, what is it?"

"NO!" I yelled.

"Come on Chipmunk." he said following me.

"Don't you Chipmunk me! Wait, let me get this straight. You want me to pretend to be your girlfriend to get Emma jealous?"

"Yes!" he said then I looked at him like Really? "I mean NO, I mean Please."

"You like her, she likes you. Why can't you just ask her out on a date."

"Pleaseeeee, with extra whipped cream and a cherry on top."

"Daniel! You're using your best friend to get another girl jealous!"

"Come On, I'll do whatever you want!"

"NO." I said walking to my class.

"I'll buy you a car." he asked me once I was outside of my classroom.

"NO."

"I'll get you a dog.I know you've always wanted one."

"NO. Emma's my friend, kind of. I don't want to hurt her."

"You talk, 3 times a month."

"So, we're classmates and friends, kind of." I said, "Where did you get that stupid idea anyways?" I added.

"Welllll..."

*FLASHBACK*

I was walking to class when I bumped into Maddie and Diego.

"Hey Daniel! Don't forget we have a swim meet after school." Diego said.

"Oh yeah, sure." I said, then Emma walked behind them with Andi, she waved and I waved back. Then she walked away, I guess Maddie saw us.

"You like Emma." Maddie said as Diego smirked at me.

"NO I don't." I said and then they looked at me. "Ok, yeah I do."

"And she only thinks of you as a friend." Maddie said.

"NO she doesn't." I said and then they looked at me. "Ok, she does."

"You wanna know why?" she said.

"No, not really." I said then looked away for a second. "Ok just tell me.

"It's because you've never had a girlfriend. No one wants to take a chance on you. If you had a girlfriend then broke up with her, every girl in school would want you. Especially Emma." Maddie said.

"That's a horri-"

"Horrific." Diego said. "That is a Horrific Idea. I mean, seriously dude, I know my cousin." he added.

"Ok, well, we gotta get to class." Maddie said.

"Practice!" Diego said pointing at me before he walked away with Maddie.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"You took advice from Maddie. Should've known." I said before walking away

"I'll pay for your college fund."

"NO. You know how much I want to save up for college on my own. I'm trying to get a scholarship Danny."

"Well, what do you want?"

"I want, I want you to bring back time. I want you to bring me to the day I found out my father's other family and make sure I never find out. If you can do that, then I'll agree." I said serious and frowning.

"Oh Mia, You know I can't do that. As much as I want to, I can't." he said hugging me.

"Okay." I said.

"Okay?"

"I will help you get Emma to want to go out with you."

"Really?!?"

"Sure. I mean I know if it was the other way around, you would do it for me. And you've been there for me ever since 6th grade."

"Great! You're the best Mia!"

"But only under one condition, ok 2."

"What?"

"1 I don't want anyone to get hurt. and 2, I want you to take me to my father so that I could formaly meet his family and formaly say goodbye to him...forever."

"Done. Wait, are you sure you want to meet his family Mia? I mean we could just see him."

"That's my offer, if you don't want it then-"

"I don't."

"What?"

"If I take you to meet your dad's other family, I'm sure you'll get hurt. That's already breaking your first condition and I don't want to see my best friend hurt."

"I won't get hurt. I've been through worse and you know that. And plus, if he didn't want to say goodbye to me then he would've-he would've helped me when I needed him the most."

"I just don't want anyone to get hurt, especially you." he said hugging me on the side. "Come on, let's go home." he added as we walked out of the school.
