I woke up to a sound of a very annoying alarm clock. It took me a moment to find it and slam the snooze button, but I found it just as Derek sat up in annoyance. We groaned and fell back on our beds in unison, not wanting to go to our new school.
"Guys! You need to get up or everyone will miss the bus!" Jordan exclaimed, removing the covers off of our beds.
Derek's and I groaned once more, finally deciding to get up and get dressed. I just put on a nice red shirt with jeans and red converse. (Wasn't kidding when I said I liked red) I went into the only free bathroom, taking my little old time combing my tangled hair which took forever anyways.
"NIKKI! HURRY UP I NEED TO PEE!" Derek banged on the door as he yelled at me.
"Alright you big bab-" Derek pushed me out if the way and slammed the door on my face before I could finish my sentence. Well, looks like my hair is going to be itself today. I went downstairs, smelling waffles being cooked as I entered the kitchen.
"Ah! Hot! Hot!' Jackson exclaimed, playing hit potato with a couple of thawed out waffles. He threw one of them to my surprise, the waffle being super hot.
"How long did you cook this for?" I asked Jackson
"I didn't! Nat placed these in there thirty minutes ago!" Jackson told me. I tossed mine around for a few more motives until the waffles cooled down in my hand. I took a bite, satisfied at how good it was.
"Well, at least it tastes good when hot." I said, leaving the room to grab my backpack from upstairs.
"Hey Nikki! Derek! We have to leave in a minute to catch the bus!" Nat screamed from down the hall.
"Ok!" We said in unison. I grabbed my tokidoki bag from before as Derek grebes his green camo bag. "Lets go!" I told Derek, running out to the door.
"Have a good day, guys!" Jordan saluted us off as he left to take Jackson to school.
Jackson's school was an hour away from the house, so Jordan didn't have time to take us to school and Monica had work in the morning. We got to the bus stop, out breath from running with the amount of heat in the air. "Never. Doing. That. Again!" I exclaimed in between breaths. Nat and Derek nodded to agree, seeing the bus pull up to our stop.
"Here we go!" Nat exclaimed, pulling the two of us on the bus. "Morning!" She told the cranky bus driver, only receiving a grunt back. "Here I'll sit next to Nikki and Derek can sit the row in front of us!" Nat sat down next to me, giving me the window seat to look out at the scenery of Denver.
"Woah those mountains are huge!" I exclaim. In the middle of California, the mountains are more like little hills, but these were the still gigantic by itself.
"Yep! Pretty cool, huh?" Nat said, laughing similar to her father.
"Yeah, amazing." Derek spoke quietly, not trying to be loud like I was. It wasn't long until we got through a few bus stops. Nat was complaining about some guys, like usual, when someone walked up to us.
"Abigail! Eli! Hey over here!" Nat waved her hand like a lunatic as two figures got on the bus.
"Nat!" Abigail exclaimed very loudly, giving Nat a giant hug. Eli started to giggle at them when he saw Derek and I.
"Who are they?" He asked us.
I placed my finger on Nat's lip so she wouldn't answer for us. "I'm Nikole, but I prefer to be called Nikki. This is my twin brother, Derek. Nice to meet you!" I introduced myself and gave them both a high five. Derek did the same thing, causing the both of them to laugh.
"Nice to meet you! I'm Abigail!" Abigail had light, tan skin, definitely natural by heredity. Her accent is barely noticeable, but it was still there. She had long black hair that looked at be as soft as a teddy bear as it moved with her.
"And I'm Eli. I'm a Sophomore while Abigail is just a simple Freshman." Eli giggled, making Abigail pout. Eli was sort of tall, even though I looked to be an inch taller than him. He had black hair with it the front of it flipped up, almost like an Elvis hairstyle. Both him and Abigail were wearing black square glasses, fitting their faces perfectly.
"Hey what are you talking about? All of you were Freshmen last year!" She complained, but it didn't take her long to suddenly start giggling again, making Derek and I laugh.
The bus driver exclaimed something to the siblings about sitting down, but I couldn't fully catch their last name. It started with a C though.
"Hey you two can sit next to Derek while I'll keep this spot next to me reserved for Kimberly." Nat said shooing them to Derek.
"So where are you from?" Abigail asked.
"Sacramento." Derek responded.
"Woah! That's far!" Eli exclaimed, making everyone chuckle. Eli was suddenly punched in the shoulder by a girl that entered the bus. "Ow! Kimberly!"
"Sup, dude." She laughed, giving Abigail a head rub. Abigail hissed at her, making both of them giggle.
"Kimberly! Meet Nikki and Derek! They're new here!" Nat introduced us.
"Sup. Name's Kimberly, nice to meet you." She waved to us. She had long chocolate hair that was in a ponytail, brown eyes, and a small nose piercing. She was wearing a shirt from Sword Art Online, jeans, and navy blue converse.
"Hey." Derek said.
"So what classes do you have?" Kimberly asked us. I handed her my schedule as she compared classes. "We have art and English together."
"Cool!" I said. "What about you, Derek?"
He handed her his schedule. "Algebra and English." She handed Derek back his schedule.
"That means I have English with Nikki." Derek said, smiling. We wanted at least one class together, which made both of us happy.
"Nice." Abigail giggled. "I have Art and Algebra as well, so I have two classes with the both of you."
"What about me?" Eli wined, handing him my schedule as well. He giggled as he gave it back to me. "Cool! We have PE and French together."
"Who else is in those classes with us?" I asked Eli.
"Um there's Dakota and David." Eli started to tell me a list friends when some guy walked up to us.
"I heard my name~" The guy sang, sitting across from Me, Nat, and Kimberly. He raised his eyebrow in amusement as Kimberly scowled at him.
"Wilson." She gritted in between her teeth, as if the guy's name was toxic to her ears.
"Kimmy." He said, giving out a big laugh. She flipped him off when he said the name that she obviously didn't like.
"Are you seriously going to fight when David hasn't even met Nikki and Derek." Nat complained, switching places with Kimberly. "David, meet Nikki and Derek!"
"Hey." David said, not needing to introduce himself.
"Hi." I said, raising my own eyebrow in curiosity.
"Hmph, you just don't want the boy to throw a baby fit." Kimberly snickered, making David quickly go red.
"Shut up, bitch!" He exclaimed to her.
"Like father, like son." Eli giggled, making everyone laugh but David. He turned away with a cherry face, not wanting to get upset.
"We have to get used to this, huh?" I asked Nat.
"Yep, but you'll have fun." Nat smiled. We pulled up to the front of the school, everyone draining from the bus. Nat ran up to the school, making everyone else run after her.
