I was jumping around the house, excited to see it become empty right before my eyes. I already moved everything out of my room and was waiting for my twin brother to finish packing up his room. "C'mon Derek!" I exclaimed, running into his room.
"Shut up Nikki, I'm going as fast as I can!" Derek exclaimed.
"You two stop fighting! We have to leave in ten minutes!"
"Sorry, Dad." We said in unison. Our father has been excited to finally move to Denver since he would be able to visit his old friends from his Youtube career. Yeah, our dad was a famous youtuber who was known as Zeroyalviking. He stopped recording for Youtube so he can help raise Derek and I until High School, and we're our Sophomore year of High School.
"Dad is super excited to see his old friends, huh Derek?" I said.
"Yeah, and we get to start at a new school." Derek spoke. He grabbed his last bag, leaving the now empty room. "Let's go before dad goes all Canadian Hockey on us!"
We ran outside, seeing our parents talking. Dad said that he was going to drive to Denver with the moving truck and Mom. Derek and I were going on the plane flight to Denver alone, being picked up by Dad's friend Jordan and staying with him for a week.
We arrived at the airport with Derek and I grabbing our bags. "Alright be safe you bunch of Vikings!" Dad joked with Derek and I, giving us a giant bear hug. We said our goodbyes as we went to our flight gate to wait or our flight.
"Hey Nikki." Derek said
"Yeah?"
"Are you nervous in any way? I can sense it a bit." Derek asked me. We of course had that cliche twin connection, with Derek being correct about my nervousness.
"A bit. We're going to a new school and meeting Dad's friends, whom from their old channels seem pretty immature." I said, making Derek laugh.
"We would have to meet new people, ugh." Derek complained. He was the shy and quiet type, but can't shut up when you get to know him. It made me laugh as he stated his comment.
"It's ok, we have each other." I patted his shoulder, making him look up at me with pride. The plane was now letting people come in, asking for our tickets. "Let's go bro." I took his hand and walked up to the line. We were able to sit next to each other so we weren't stuck with strangers. The flight was getting pretty boring as Derek fell asleep on my arm. I grabbed my eye mask, wanting to go to sleep myself.
-----Few hours later-----
I wake up to Derek hitting my shoulder. "What?" I asked sternly.
"We landed. Get your ass up and let's go find Dad's friend." Derek told me. His hair was messy as if he was asleep the whole flight, but it was the same with my hair, too. I had wavy brown hair and bright green eyes, and Derek had dark, curly brown hair with blue eyes.
"Alright. Im getting up!" I exclaimed, sitting up and collecting my small Tokidoki back pack.
A/N: Tokidoki is a cool franchise of cute little Japanese characters and they sell really cool makeup, clothes, hats, and bags. I actually have a phone case by them!
It took Derek and I forever before we got to the baggage claim, collecting our giant suitcases. We looked around the airport to not did anyone who would look like Jordan. It was when someone tapped on my shoulder when we found her. "Hi! Do you happen to be Nikole and Derek?" She asked us. Weird, she seemed to be around my age but knew my dad from before we were born.
"You're Jordan?" Derek asked the same question that was upon my mind. "You seem a little, um, young to be our dad's friend."
The girl laughed. "Nope! I'm actually his daughter, Natalie. But I prefer Nat, nice to meet you guys."
"Cool, what's up Nat?! I like to be called Nikki!" I high-fived her, starting this meeting off right. "And yeah, where is your dad then?"
"Over there! Ugh he's petting someone's cat again!" Nat pointed over to a very tall male wearing a red baseball cap, petting a small tabby that belonged to an old woman. We walked over to him so Nat can smack his hand. "Dad! No petting strangers' cats!"
"Hey I'm your father and you can't tell me what to do!" He exclaimed, rubbing his hand. "Hey you found Nikole and Derek! Hi there, I'm your dad's friend Jordan."
Derek and I shook his hand. "I prefer Nikki, thank you." I kindly said. I would've been rude if this guy was not my dad's friend.
"I'll note that." He said. "Let's go! Monica is waiting!" He started to run with Nat to the exit, leaving Derek and I in the dust.
"HEY!" We exclaimed, reacting by running after them. We all got to the car catching our breaths. Someone in the car started to laugh as they saw us run up.
"Jordan don't tire out the kids just yet!" An older female exclaimed, still laughing at us.
"Sorry, Monica. We were all getting a little crazy." Jordan gave the girl a kiss on the cheek. Monica must be his wife then, I thought.
"It's was only him, Mom." Nat said, earning a glare from her dad. We placed our bags in the back of the car and hopped in.
"Hey I wasn't introduced yet!" A younger voice exclaimed, scaring Nat.
"God darnit, Jackson!" She exclaimed and gave out a sigh. "This is my little brother, Jackson. He's in eight grade while I'm a Sophomore." She explained to Derek and I.
"Hey were Sophomores, too!" I exclaimed. "And hi Jackson." I waved to him.
"Hey." He responded, turning on his 3DS to play Pokemon. It was, however, quickly taken away by Jordan. "Dad!"
"Sorry, you have to get to know Steven's kids before playing your video games." He disciplined Jackson, causing him to groan.
"Fine! I'll talk to them." Jackson quickly looks over at me with amusement. "So Nikki, are you single?" Before he could continue, both Nat and I flicked his head. "Ah! I'm sorry! I'll just talk to Derek!" And with that Nat and I were able to talk.
"Ok! Question time!" Nat declared. "What's your favorite color?"
"Candy apple red." I quickly answered.
"Hmm ok ok." She grabbed a notepad covered with cat patterns, threw it off to the side, then grabbed another one but with dogs on it. "Sorry, I like dogs better, don't tell my dad. Question 2: Favorite article of clothing."
"Sport Jerseys, mainly football and hockey. I'm all for San Jose Sharks and San Francisco 49ers." I said, making Nat write down all of this.
A/N: My hometown :D San Jose is somewhere in California. And almost everyone knows about San Francisco.
"Favorite way to have your hair."
"Down and only brushed through. I like that it kind of becomes puffy after I do so. I will straighten it sometimes."
"Cool way to think of not doing anything to it." Nat joked. "Ok, do you wear makeup?"
"Only mascara and blush. Sometimes I wear eye shadow too."
"Hmm, I usually go all out with makeup, but today is my lazy day so I'm wearing nothing." Nat told me, making me chuckle.
We continued this the rest of the car ride until Jackson asked me some questions, like what type of boys I like. I told him I like any guys other than him, which made Nat crack up. She asked Derek a few questions herself, but they were not as creepy as Jackson's questions were to me.
"We're here, meow!" Jordan exclaimed, making Monica laugh. I jumped out of the car to see a beautiful house in front of me. It was a two story that was painted beige, I gasped at its awesomeness.
"Too cool!" I exclaimed to Derek, running into the house with him. "Where are we staying?" I turned to Monica to ask.
"Upstairs to the left, you have to share a room sorry." Monica told us. The both of us didn't care as we ran upstairs to find a room with separate beds. I jumped into the bed that I called mine and looked up at the ceiling.
"Looks like a new point in our lives has just begun, Derek." I said aloud.
