The whole week has gone by too fast! It was already Friday, the day before the party! Everyone one's parents were going except Millie's. Dad said he has never met her father except at conventions, and that we invited too many people already. However, I am making it up to her by going to hang out at her house next Thursday.
"Yes! We're home for the weekend!" I exclaimed, swan diving into my bed.
Derek laughed, passing my door. "Me too!" He called out while heading for his room.
I grabbed a walkie talkie, which is what Derek and I use to communicate from our rooms since we were five and we don't actually have phones. "Are you excited for tomorrow?"
I could Derek trying to find his walkie talkie from my room, dropping everything from his still unpacked boxes. "Yeah, but I'm nervous as well."
I nodded, even though Derek can't see me nod. "At least from what Mia said we know most of Ian's friends' children." I reassured my brother.
"Oh yeah, lets hope she's right." Derek laughed, causing me to laugh with him. "It's getting late."
I looked out the window, seeing he was not wrong. "Ok, we should go to bed then." I went to grab a pair of pajamas, which had the design of pixelated video game characters on.
"Alright, good night." Derek said, turning off his walkie talkie.
"Night." I still said into it, getting into my bed again. I looked up at the ceiling of my new room. I always look up at a ceiling every time I was too excited to fall asleep, which was right now. I think about what has happened within this week, the move, meeting Nat and everyone else at school, Millie, living near Mia, and getting to meet Dad's old friends tomorrow. My eyes closed, now ready to end the day.
-----Morning-----
I woke up a jolt, hearing a party popper from downstairs. I got up and ready within seconds, not needing to wear any makeup what so ever. I have never been into makeup anyways, it had never looked good on me.
I went downstairs, actually beating Derek at getting ready, which is never. Small decorations covered the entire first floor of the house. I smiled, seeing Dad try to help Mom put up the last few decorations while she was on his back. He fell of course, making her crash down with him. "Honey!" She wined.
"Sorry! I'm not as young as we were ten years ago!" He joked, helping her up. She pushed him a bit, making him fall onto me. "Nikki! Hi!" Dad said, getting off of me.
"Good morning Dad, ya know its nice being tackled and all." I joked, fake pouting.
"Sorry sweetie, your father is just a little clumsy." Mom said.
"What!" Dad just pouted the same way as I did, see where I get it from? "You pushed me!"
Mom laughed. "Well who fell when I pushed you?" Dad groaned, knowing this fight shouldn't go on any longer. A loud ring of the doorbell caught all of our attentions, turning our head towards the direction of the sound.
"I GOT IT!" Derek exclaimed just as I dashed for the door. "Hey I said I got it!" Derek growled as we made it to the door at the same time, now slap fighting like adult women at bars.
"Hello!" Our dad sang, opening the door before the both of us. We all stopped and dropped our jaws, seeing who was at the door. Derek and I had our hands tangled around each other, trying to pull away to look formal. "Bajan?"
The adult man smiled with glee, light brown hair flipped up. "Yep! Nice to see you Ze!" Next to him was Hunter, a younger boy, and a little girl that this Bajan guy was holding in his arms.
