"Take her," The guard ordered to another one. We were in the basement of my house with my parents.

"No, don't take her!" I screamed, holding her back.

"Take the other one," the same guard ordered. A guard grabbed me, I screamed as loud as I could.

"Take me but not my sister!" I shouted at the guard. Maybe he was in a good mood, but the guard dropped my sister and carried me away.

"No!" My mom yelled her eyes puffy from crying. My dad tried grabbing me but a guard hit him in the head with a gun.

"Mommy, Daddy!" I cried out. I sobbed as the guards took me to put me in a van.

"Miranda, I love you. Keep Mommy and Daddy safe." I yelled at her with tears coming out. "I love all of you." Miranda sobbed as she watched me be taken away.

"This is Julian, we don't have the designated subject but we have another promising girl." Julian, the guard, said over a walkie talkie.

"Who?" she asked. I hated her and everything she did to me and my family.

"Subject A-19's sister, Samantha Miller."

Suddenly, I'm brought into another memory that I can't escape.

I was sitting with two boys, Newt and a girl. My younger self immediately recognizes them. Thomas, Aris, Newt, Teresa and I sat in chairs. We were about twelve or thirteen, just sitting there while a man talked to us. He called himself Janson.

"Aris Jones, Group B." Janson announced. Aris looked at all of us and stood up being led by a guard.

"Thomas, Teresa, it's time." Janson told the two kids.

"To do what?" Teresa asked, her eyes full of fear.

"Create the Maze. Come along now." Janson motioned for them to follow with his free hand, the other holding a clipboard. Thomas got up and Teresa quickly passed me and said,

"The Maze will end soon after you arrive. But tell Thomas, if you ever remember this, float, catch, bleed, death, run, push. It's the code."

"The code to what?"

"To—" Janson's voice cut Teresa off, telling her to come. Teresa looked at me with pleading eyes.

I awoke with a startle. My last name is Miller. I was remembering more. I had a sister named Miranda. They were going to take her and I saved her.

And this stupid Glade. It was all a stupid test, we were being tested like lab rats.

I sobbed, burying my hands into my face. Newt rushed to my side and grabbed my shoulder gently.

"Sam? What's wrong?" Newt asked with pleading eyes.

"I remember my sister. My family. My last name." I cried. I looked up and saw Newt's face. He looked just as sad as me. I buried my face into his chest and cried some more.

"What happened to your family?" Newt asked quietly. I removed my head from his chest and looked down, sniffling quietly.

"I...I stopped my sister from being taken away. There was this guard named Julian and a bunch more." I cried, taking shaky breaths every few words. "My dad was trying to get me but a guard hit him over the head. They let my sister go, and took me instead." I calmed down a little and looked at Newt with my tear-stained face.

"Newt, this isn't a game. It's a test." I trembled.

"What?"

"I...I think we're being experimented on. When Julian was talking to a lady telling her that he had captured me, he said me being subject A-19's sister. You're a subject, we all are. We're in one group, group A. I don't know what other groups there are. I think they're running test on us."

Newt said nothing. He just wrapped me in a hug and I wanted to stay like that forever. But sadly, he pulled back and stared straight into my eyes.

"There's more." I said and he backed up a bit as if I were radioactive, about to explode at any given moment. "Teresa told me a code to something and I need to tell Thomas."

I got up but Newt grabbed my wrist and pulled him towards me. "What do you mean, I found you?"

"I'll explain later. But for now, I need to find Thomas." I said, running out of his grip and running out into the Glade.

I found him next to Minho and I sprinted as fast as I could. "Thomas!" I yelled. Thomas saw me and his face suddenly turned to panic.

He grabbed my arms. "What? What is it?"

"When we were little, Teresa said to tell you these words. Float, catch, bleed, death, run, push. It's a code to..." I struggled to finish my sentence, but I didn't need to.

"The Maze." Thomas breathed. "How did you remember?"

"I-I don't know. When I blacked out, I remembered me and Newt sitting together talking of how scared we were. He was taken away and he promised to find me. I blacked out again and it was when I was taken away. Then another memory happened and it was you, me, Teresa, Newt and some boy named Aris Jones. A guy named Janson moved Aris to another room because he was in something called Group B while we were in Group A. Then Janson ordered you and Teresa to help create the Maze and Teresa told me right before she left." I explained.

"Wait," Minho said and I forgot he was there. "Thomas and Teresa built the Maze?"

"Under the force of Janson." I assured Minho, but I knew he couldn't look at Thomas the same way.

"Nothing else?" Thomas asked. I shook my head. Thomas ran his fingers through his hair. "WICKED. That's who's controlling us." Thomas snapped his fingers. He was onto something.

"WICKED?" Minho asked.

"World In Catastrophe, Killzone Experiment Department." Thomas and I said in unison.

"That is fuh-reaky." Minho said in a sing-song voice.

"Thomas, I need to remember." With those five words he knew what I meant.

"No way, Sam." Thomas shook his head violently. "I won't let you."

"I'm remembering, I just need to remember that much more." I pleaded.

"No! Let me." Thomas said.

"As much as I love this little talk, I kind of want to know what is going on." Minho said, stepping in between us.

"She...she..." Thomas said, still looking at me. He didn't take his eyes off me as he said the words, "She wants to get stung on purpose."
