Jimin slapped his hand over his own mouth. He hadn't meant to blurt out something quite so blunt. The thought had just come to him quite randomly and he spoke out of an overwhelming fear for his own position.
Hoseok just sat wide-eyed at the smaller boy in front of him. He wasn't sure what to say. He too, was heavily confused as to where such a comment had come from. Jimin just hung his head in shame.
He watched Jimin quickly cover his mouth, and then his brain function shutdown. The idea was just so out of the blue it left the two in uncomfortable silence. Though the worrying feeling Hoseok had felt previously swam back into him. Jimin was so fearful, he had brought upon terror to Hoseok as well.
"I-I'm sorry." Jimin squeaked out, the sound muffled by his small hand. After no reply Jimin finally lifted up his head to see Hoseok peering at him. His mouth was strung open, yet there was no sound escaping. "I am not sure-" Jimin went on to continue before Hoseok raised his hand, bring the two back into silence.
"Jimin." Hoseok tried to begin a sentence. To say something in reply to Jimin's strange reaction. Though all he felt was confusion. "Why did you say that?" He eventually questioned.
Jimin played with his hands which were dropped into his lap. He didn't even know himself why he had irrationally spoken like that. It only gave Hoseok more reason to the fire him. The idea had just come to him quite randomly as his mind went over everything that had been said that night.
The sentences: "I'm not sure what's worse. That you caught me looking at male strippers, or that you are one." had come to him. It had taken Jimin some time to realise what Hoseok had said while in his drunken state of mind. He had accidentally confessed to be interested in the male body, leading to Jimin's words.
"I was just afraid. I apologise for my comment." Jimin's eyes dropped down from Hoseok's and he slightly tilted his head down, trying to bow towards his boss.
"Afraid?" Hoseok questioned, even though he knew exactly why the younger was in such a paranoid state.
"I thought you were about to fire me. I wanted to make a valid argument as to why you shouldn't fire me... but my own words seemed to turn on me." Jimin almost whispered, but the room was so quiet it was hard to miss any form of sound.
"Jimin I'm not going to fire you." He stopped, needing to take in a quick breath before continuing. "I was just going to apologise." Jimin's head snapped back up at Hoseok's words, and the small collection of water in his eyes seemed to disappear.
"You mean it?!" Jimin almost screamed before slapping his hand back over his mouth.
Hoseok let out a small laugh accompanied with a head scratch. It was a little awkward, but it was the only reaction Hoseok was able to muster up. Jimin on the other hand, just got redder in the face from slight embarrassment.
Jimin heard the small sound from his lips and his heart flipped. He had possibly offend his boss who was only going to apologise for whatever reason. Now Hoseok had laughed in the space, creating a smooth sound which Jimin's ears would enjoy getting to witness once more.
"This seems to be a very messy situation. Would you like to restart the conversation?" Hoseok asked looking right into Jimin's soft eyes. The younger just nodded, breaking the eye contact while trying to ignore his burning face.
"Okay. I'll start this time, by saying; Don't worry you're not fired I just wanted to speak with you about the events that happened last Friday." Hoseok cleared his throat before continuing. "I apologise for possibly making you stress about your position within my company, but I have no intention of letting you go. You're a good worker, and truly I should be apologising more. I have never been able to praise you enough. I also hope that your second career choice was not somehow chosen due to something on my part." He finished calmly. Talking to people had become very hard to Hoseok after locking himself away for so long.
