"Your... eyes..."

Ignis tilted his head down, most likely in humiliation and embarrassment. His arms and hands firmly stuck to his sides.

You couldn't believe what you were seeing. Yes, it was hard to believe a lot of things that happened today, but all of them were of the good kind... until now. You stood still, your arms still wrapped around his shoulders. Tears still leaked from your eyes. Just a second ago, they were tears of happiness, of joy... but now they were tears of pure horror and shock. Your mouth was agape, your (e/c) eyes widened to their fullest.

He had changed. His light brown hair was now all grown out at the top, with a single little strand down. ...And his handsome face was adorn in scars. He was wearing dark visors. However, due to your close proximity, you could clearly see through them. His left eye was closed... and completely covered in an enormous, hideous, brown scar while his right one was open... and appeared to be no longer the sparkling emerald green colour you loved to look into. Now... it was pure white.

"What... happened to you?" you asked, your voice no more than a whisper. The man took a few long seconds before giving his answer.

"It happened during the same day Lady Lunafreya passed..."

You blinked.

" Lunafreya's death was... 10 years ago."

"Indeed."

"...Well... Are you able to see fine?" Ignis shifted his head to the side.

"I... I cannot see, (n/n). I'm... blind." His voice was pained and sorrowful. Never had you heard him like this.

Your bottom lip trembled. Sadness washed over your soul like a tsunami. You just couldn't believe it! Ignis Scientia. Blind. You couldn't even imagine living without being able to see.

"Oh, Ignis..." you whispered in a sympathetic voice, the words sounding croaked from your trembling spirit. Suddenly, you engulfed him in another hug, squeezing and gripping his shoulders in an attempt to block the threatening tears in your eyes. Slowly, and finally, he returned the gesture by gently wrapping his arms around your waist, providing you with a sense of security and comfort. "I missed you so much."

"I have missed you as well."

You both stayed that way for a short while before...

"Well ain't that sweet," Gladio stated from across the hall. You broke the hug and turned to see the two men from earlier at the other end of the corridor. You had forgotten that they were in the next hall over.

"So... Pretty shocking, huh?" Prompto meekly asked, hinting at the fact that you found out that Ignis was blind.

"Of course it is," you replied as you turned your head back to the said man. You then reached for his hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. "But, at least you guys are safe. That's all that matters."

As Prompto and Gladio began to walk towards you, it was then you realized that something, or better someone was still missing from the picture.

"Hey... Where's Noct?" you asked.

At the mention of the Prince's name, everyone stopped dead in their tracks and movements. It was as though the planet itself had stopped spinning. You could hear their breaths hitch in the dead silent atmosphere. Everyone's head was tilted down, their expressions filled with hurt.

"(Y/n)..." Prompto started, his voice matching his face. "Noct's... gone."

Gone...?

"Gone?" you asked, terrified. Terrified by what that word could potentially mean. You looked at all three men around you. "What so you mean Noct's gone? Gone where?"

Prompto's eyes drifted downwards. Ignis's hand gracefully slide from your grasp as he turned his body away. Gladio then took slow, heavy steps towards you and gingerly placed his large hands on your seemingly dainty, shaking shoulders. The man then locked eyes with you, the amber irises filled with nothing more than regret and sadness. The words that streamed from his lips caused your heart to break like smashed glass.

"(Y/n)... Noctis is dead."

Muffled sobs filled the room. No one could hear them... except you, the one who was creating the sorrowful noises. It seemed like you had been crying for practically the whole day. It was now night and the salty liquid just kept pouring down like a waterfall, a never-ending stream of sadness.

No, no... Noct... you can't be dead! You can't! How is this kingdom going to run without you? ...How are the four of us going to run without you?! Why did you leave us?! Why?! Couldn't... couldn't there have been another way to bring the light back?! Any other way at all?! You can't just leave us like this, Noctis... I... I never got the chance to say goodbye...

After a while, your sobs and gasps began to cease down. Just then, the creaking of the door reached your ears.

"(Y/n)?"

It was Prompto. He closed the door and walked over to you, gingerly sitting down on the bed next you, rubbing your back in a comforting manner. However, instead of it calming you, it made more tears and whimpers escape your eyes and voice, the palms of your hands becoming soiled.

"Sshh..." Prompto whispered, planting a kiss on your head. "(Y/n), please. Try to calm down a little."

You took numerous breaths trying to comply to your friend's gentle demand. After a while, you finally managed to become decently stable, the only exceptions being occasional sniffling gasps. The blonde wiped off your damp face, his normally cheerful face now plagued with worry and grimness. It was something you would almost never see Prompto expressing. After a moment of silence, you finally got the strength and stability to speak.

"I can't believe he's gone..." you uttered in a trembling voice. Prompto's hand moved from your back to your forearm, rubbing it up and down in a firm, yet soothing manner.

"I know. I know. It's hard for all of us. And I know it's even harder for you because you didn't even know about it until today." Prompto then drew you closer to his body, wrapping both arms around you. You had only then realized how much muscle he had gained since you last saw him. "But, (y/n), always know that you still have me, Gladio, and Ignis. And if you ever need anything, you know you can always go to any one of us."

You glanced up at him with a sad smile, you lips trembling the slightest bit.

"I know." You then leaned into him and returned the hug, squeezing him with all the strength you had left. You inhaled Prompto's scent which you had long forgotten; it was comforting. You were so grateful for him. He was always there when you needed him the most.

...But then that reminded you...
