Did you know I was watching?
Is that why I felt your eyes linger in my direction?
I thought I saw a look of recognition cross your face.
My heart stilled in that moment as I held my breath.
But you turned away as if nothing happened.

When you closed your eyes?
And for a moment, the sun shined on your face.
A halo of hair framing your angelic features.
I couldn't help but soak in the moment with you.

Did you know I was watching?
Is that why you laughed?
Your smiling lips mocking me.
But your eyes held sincerity.
And somehow, that made everything alright.

Did you know I was watching?
When you held that warm latte in your small hands?
And you spoke with such conviction, such passion.
Your heart clearly on display.
And I realized I couldn't be more in love.

Did you know I was watching?
Is that why you wore that little black dress?
You must know that it is my favorite.
Your youth shines through the way it sways around your knees.
And I am but reminded, yet again, of your innocence.

When you fell and scraped your knee?
Tears streamed down your face in the middle of the restaurant.
Your frantic eyes searching for a band-aid.
And I might have lost my temper with the manager.

Did you know I was watching?
That night you left your blinds open?
The way you lingered in front of your bedroom windows.
It was like you were inviting me to peek in.
Just a little peek.

Did you know I was watching?
That day you left your windows open?
The drapes fluttering in the wind.
It was just so inviting, I couldn't help it.
And I climbed into your home for the first time.
